VOTE SESSHOUMARU-SAMA for Prez!!!

Another highly suitable candidate!!

Do I smell otaku-ness? hehe

if the torrents to Yakitate are dead or if you know how to get files through IRC, you should visit the #anime-empire channel, they have archivebots with all episodes.

I always have to recommend Yakitate!! Japan. I can't seem to get my friends into it. And that's sad because it really is a great anime! It's just so funny. Oh, man.

Bleach
Aishiteruze Baby
Prince of Tennis
Elfen Lied

That's all I can recommend that are reallly good and that I have continued watching, because I've often quit on animes that I felt no need to even try watching anymore.

did u finish the show?

I absolutely loved it. Brilliant piece from start to finish.
Watching the Slam Dunk OVAs again. Highly enjoyable.
And have started Honey and Clover which is shaping up very nicely.
I think I liked Hajime No Ippo even better the second time through if that is possible. GANBATTE IPPO!!

Did I hear "Old school" anime? Im a old school fan myself.... more like authentic stuff like: Ashita no Joe, Gundam 0079, Mirai Shonen Conan, etc. hehe

OH YA! Yeah Yeah Bow Applaud w00t! w00t!

Are they not making so much anime movies any more, but Series?

I miss Akira, Armitage III, 3x3 Eyes, Tenchi Muyo, Green Legend Ran, Iria, and more (Series and Movies).

What ever happened to Sailor Moon, Gundam 0079, Tenchi Muyo, and FLCL? (I think they still show Gundam 0079 and Sailor Moon in Europe)

Why do they not make another Akira or prequel of Akira? Bang Head
And why they did not make more FLCL when it was so popular? Or why they made ONLY SIX EPISODES of FLCL? Bang Head

recommendations?? well, i'm not into the violent animes with the exception of a couple so i can't help anyone in that category. My favorite animes are Fruits Basket, Prince of Tennis, Sailor Moon, Escaflowne, and Chobits.

More recently, I'm watching Solty Rei, Blood + (that's the exception because i really like the story), and Shuffle!.

hello everyone...

i categorized myself as a newbie in anime, coz so far, i've watched only a few anime... hehehe... and i'm pretty lack of infos in this matter... so, could anyone recommend me with something that has the elements of humour and romance? and a happy ending too? (hahahaha), well, it doesn't matter if it's a teenage/school stuff as long as it's good and enjoyable...

previously, i enjoy watching the Studio Ghibli's Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle.. they are sooo sweet...

thanks in advance...Smile

It doesn't get much better than Ghibli. They have a couple of more romantically inclined films, like Whisper of the Heart (Mimi wo Sumaseba) and Only Yesterday, you should check them out.

For classic anime romantic comedy series:
Maison Ikkoku is a great romantic comedy, from one of the best manga writers l, Takahashi Rumiko.

Hana Yori Dango. A high school romance, recently made into a drama Smile

Kareshi Kanojyo no Jijyo, (a/k/a Karekano or His and Her Circumstances) is a school comedy romance.

recommendations? hmm...the first couple that come to mind are

Hikaru no Go
Twelve Kingdoms
Scrapped Princess
Infinite Ryvius (might be a bit harder to get)

both are more on the serious side but have excellent plots. but for more fun anime, i'd recommend

Inu Yasha
Karekano
Fruits Baskets
I My Me Strawberry Eggs
