thanks for the encouragement, guys, because it did take a lot of work.. but the idea should be accredited to littlemissfab because it WAS solely her idea. im just helping because i love photoshop and a lot of the dramas nomimated (tho it did end up being more work than i had anticipated.. but thats ok)

HYD? hahaha...well it's not the worst drama. But people just get so giddy about it because of matsujun and oguri shun? I watched this drama and I don't hate it at all it was a pleasant viewing and lighthearted too. The actors are great but it's not the best drama of the year.

Nothing is fair in the world of judgement. Not all people will be satisfied with the result. I did not vote because I don't watch too many dramas this year so I could not give a fair judgement. I like JE boys but when they suck I will say they suck. Yup, I'm just being objective.

Come to think of it Fashion Statement of the Year for Nobuta wo Produce should include the scene of Akira & Shuuji painting on their pants "stupid" & "show-off" after all it did start a fashion trend (at least in the show) . Or perhaps the scene whereby the leads wore pink/green girlie outfits. Oh well can't change it now.

I didn't really hate HYD. Actually liked it a lot until I saw it being #14 on Top 50 Dramas.

Something wrong when a show that, IMHO, lacks originality, emotional fullfillment, depth of story and acting beating Sekai no chuushin, Kamisama and Nobuta. Incidently Nobuta is basically the same story about a girl overcoming bullying from her classmates but done in a much more creative way. I don't know I should start a "I hate HYD" thread or something

i certainly enjoyed the fall season dramas & they deserve to be pick as finalist. (including HYD --> overhyped but highly entertaining nevertheless). haha I agree with u on that one. But instead of "I hate HYD" we could hav smth like "HYD is overrated" (which it actually is ) its a should see drama but not all that great compared to Engine or NwP or 1 litre of tears
and sawadasmiles the screencaps were awesome i didnt think that u guys would have it... but when i saw it on page 12, it reminded me a lot of those dramas that i have seen ^^ very nice job (ur in NY? me too... dang its like 50 degrees here in NYC and it's December )
anyway its true that fall season dramas are really better than the earlier ones... so it shouldnt be a surprise to see them taking over all the nominations

Usually I download most of my dramas based on the Top 50 ranking. For the most part it has been helpful. Since I didn't see Tiger & Dragon on the list was wondering if it is any good? Kinda don't wanna download it just for voting/watching while there are still some on the Top 50 that I haven't downloaded/watched yet. yeah, HYD is overrated.. as much as i love it, and i may have voted for it (b/c i saw that the others i liked had enough noms ), i dunno about my final vote. it wasnt the most touching or most novel idea but it was done well (tho too short in my opinion)... and some of the acting was superbbbb

oooh yes ur in NYC too! i'm in long island right now for winter break back homeee... went to the city last night and it was very nice- not cold at ALL!! really amazing weather

anyway theres also the fact that a lot of people joined jdorama because of fall dramas, and perhaps thats also a factor in why alot of the fall dramas got to the finals... but i dont mind, im glad about a lot of nominations. but i will finish watchin more dramas before voting i think!

ok first of all, i love hyd with a passion, and i'd love to see nobuta, but YES @sunmoon that was me who said the person im gonna vote doesnt count, what if i say i vote for joe odagiri, that guy did shows and movies including international more than 5x this year, would he win? NO i dont think so, i just know it.. so whatevers.. like i said, hyd x nobuta will obviously get the most nominations because of fanbased! so why waste my time voting when hes not gonna get something? its not like hes getting a trophy or anything.. well goodluck, whoever wins.

and i am speaking from my opinion, dont tell me any crap words like, "any vote counts" it seems like you dont accept any of our opinions, and it 'doesnt count' whatever we feel towards the mainstream categories.. cuz thats just basically the same thing.

IMO, the purpose for awards like these is such that when, in the future, we all look back on the 2005 dramas, the majority of us can point to the winner and say, "That's a drama that we enjoyed and can heartily recommend." It may not be every single person's absolute favorite, but it's probably safe to say that it would be high up on that list of favorites for a lot of people.

So... don't worry guys, and just vote. Show your support by voting, because really, everyone worked hard to bring these dramas (and this poll ) to us! Even if your favorite isn't on the poll, then vote for the next one you think most deserves the award. Those of us who can't vote yet are awaiting the results!

just to clarify myself, i dont really feel like voting not because of the popularity or not.. whatever, its because we dont really need to., as its not mandatory.. i wasnt trying to attack anyone, i apologize if anyone took it the wrong way, i could be blunt at times, and yes its true this is just for fun, and im looking forward to see the final result but please respect our opinions, the same as we respect yours. though i admit, im disappointed to see hydxnobuta everywhere, like i said, it makes the other shows less worthy, the hardcore viewers knows what im talking about.

I agree with Jenn here. I really appriciate other dramas other than HYD and Nobuta. I think those two are just overrated. And those two dramas are soo typical. Usual bullying, guy helps like a hero...I need something better than that. And my voting, what I voted for was outnumbered so it's like no point voting. It's like all in one set. one opinion won't beat many.

this award is more like 'viewers' choice award to me.

we're not professional judges who watched all the 50 or i donno how many dramas this yr and so impossible to vote fairly... i've only watched 3 dramas this year, but still can't stop me from voting - says alot about this award thingy ^^. and you can't force me to watch some dramas myself even though alot of folks rave about them coz maybe there're some actors/actresses in it that i don't like... subjectively - i admit.

i think the original organizers started this with a good intention. next year will be better i think... with a wider base of voters...

besides, when i look at the votes for the top artists in this forum... it's really fan-based anyway... alot of 'ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! he's/she's sooooooooo gorgeous!' etc... eg. i always thought kimutaku was over-rated as an actor... lol but, you can't deny he's an icon of modern japan.

as for the talk on hyd. yes, it's enjoyable, yes, it's cliche, yes, it's unreal, yes, it's got alot of fans even before the japanese live action came out, but i think folks voted for it for different reasons, it's definitely not the best drama i've watched by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar - not even matsujun can save the low-IQ plot... but even i voted for it in this forum just coz i think it did a better job than mg.
and even when i think that yasashi jikan was a much more substantial, matured, thought provoking drama than hyd, hyd is still much more enjoyable by far in it's 'entertainment' value. <----------this is a personal comment.
