i was surprised to see miho kanno nominated for best actress for ai no uta because i thought not many people watching it, yea is kinda exciting to see nominees other than hydxnwp, and miho kanno definately did a great job in ai no uta, i started to like her after i watched the drama, she has such a unique voice =x however, i wont vote for her lol..........i dont really care who wins in the actors category bcos we know tht some guy from JE will win, im more into actresses.......im satisfied with the nominees of actresses except the evil girl from hyd and maybe yankumi (dont beat me =x). wheres Amami Yuki??? Or Wakui Emi.......

i agree that hyd should not be in no.14 in the list, 1 litre of tears should switch place with hyd instead or maybe gokusen just jk i think i will vote for any category with 1 litre of tears in the end haha.......although i liked nwp ALOT.......

i agree with atheon, dont be shy, its ok if you want that to overtake gokusen 2, i actually thought 1 litre of tears deserves to have a little praise, then again its sort of like another similarity of sekachu, so i dunno if thats anyones cup of tea....

yeah~ but shouldn't the votes for a drama count solely lookiung at the drama itself, and how it's done, instead of looking at the similarities to other dramas?
There are so many "similar" dramas that i've seen, yet some touch my heart more than others just because of it's small differences.

yeah~ tis true...i am fairly new myself this year....yet by next year i'm sure I would have watched a whole buttload of dramas, but newbies will still come pouring in probably attracted to another JE member infiltrated drama.
But those are what get's people started on other dramas...
so it's got a good and bad side like all things.

what i'm saying is....votes out of fandom are inevitable. maybe next year there would be a minimum number of doramas you must have watched or something like that to reduce the partiality of the votes.
But the awards are going fairly well for a first.

im not talking about similarities, i brought the example of why 1st litre of tears didnt make the cut. hyd isnt a new thing either, whether it came from an american or japanese way, theres always gonna be a drama about bullying and making friends from a rich crowd or whatever similarities with nobuta.

i guess im one of those used to be newbie that didnt fall in the JE fandom, so that is why im speaking from this point.

anyway, i dont want this to get out of hand, this is getting played out so ill let you guys enjoy your biased votings, and may the best drama wins and pick the right choice.

I bet not everyone realize that Fukigenna Gene was a good drama in Spring season? Not everyone watch that I assume. I'm pretty hardcore drama watchers, I sometimes give myself time to watch a crappy drama to test myself how long I can stand it.

To give my view on this whole situation, yes I have to agree that most voters are merely fanbased and not based on the objective reason on why I vote this drama. Apparently many JE boys are cast in good dramas lately and no doubt they always appeared in every season. Name any season there will be at least one or two JE boys there, hence we cannot avoid JE boys in this whole drama world. However can you be objective to compare them to other drama with other non-JE related?

I know we're not some professional judges but we need to think about this as fair as possible if this is actually want it to be ritually continued? After all we want to get variety of objective voters right? Hence I think both side has a point. Yes, I have to admit I am rather disappointed with JE dominating the nominations don't get me wrong I like JE boys but I'm being objective if other actors are better than them so I speak it out.

To the starter of this awards please do consider both side of the stories, and I suggest that you also consult to moderators afterward.

well there are lot of things wrong in this world.....like kyoko fukada being ranked #11 ahead of a multitude of more talented male and female artists...it's laughable....but you take in to account the demographics of the voting pool and other confounding factors and you realize why that's the case.

Many posts talkin about biased votes in here, but I also want to point out that let's be more open minded. If JE boys can act, then we should admit it. Dont keep on thinkin "No he is from JE, he obviously can't act." (maybe sm of them can't ) But still, dont judge a book by its cover (smth like "hes a pretty boy thats all he is")

i've been watching dramas way before i even knew what JE was. i watched gokusen2 and kimi wa petto, then i did research on matsu and kame...and voila~ they are actual singers and members of groups.
either way~ it spreads love for drama and/or JE and/or japan nonetheless

Hmm..alright I think my post was ignored I thought I can just let people lay low a bit but it seemed not and I don't want to lock this thread too. ok, I hope sunmoon, lilbabi and MixxDremear's problem are settled from now.

It is obvious that the main problem of the whole situation is because of the result that was dominated by JE related actors and that includes the drama too. Some people assume that the voters are mainly watch the drama because they're JE related and disregards other good drama without them in it. Another speculation that the majority voters here are not giving enough chance to watch other drama without JE actors in it to give a fair comparison, so the result was unlikeable at the end.

Now to review the rule again....

1. as a general rule, only dramas that were shown in 2005 will be included.
2. nominees/winners will be determined through popular votes. people can only vote once. (yes, no matter how much you LOVE your jdorama stars.. only once..)
3. final set of nominees will be posted on the 20th of December
4. results will be unveiled on January 1st (tentative if votes are still coming in.. we will be watching your uname activity CLOSELY)
5. you must have at least 15 posts in Jdorama for your vote to be counted (c'mon people, this is Jdorama.. there's LOTS of things to talk about)

I know that would give the topic starter more work but hey you want to be as fair as you can right? Plus, I think there are some people who have less than 15 posts that really an avid drama watchers, instead of 15 posts why not say you have to watch at least

6. The voters have to watch at least 3 dramas per season that contains a non-JE related drama too.
7. Put the season drama that you watch so that the voting will be counted per season.

This is just a suggestion from me to avoid unnecessary excessive repetitive argument to the topic starter which can be considered but not mandatory.
