No problems here, except for pages that have large number of images (e.g. Shaku Yumiko's thread). Not that I'm necessarily complaining since they are nice pics, but it turns the browser into mush.

Will someone PLEASE look into why the site is so slow to load pages??

It's as sluggish at home as it is at work....

from the server end there's nothing wrong, there's also another phpbb forum site on the this server which gets about 700 posts a day and it runs smoothly with nobody complaining.

Although I don't frequent here a lot I haven't been able to catch it at any time that it was sluggish *shrug*. If its mysql slow search problem then genma will have to look into it.

Haven't encountered any slowdown here too. The search and indexing does cause slowdowns though, gotta figure how to optimize them. mmmm..

It is caused when a thread has too many pages? If so, you could always locked the threads and create a new one with the same topic.

Like "What are you guys listening to right now?" to "What are you guys listening to right now? - Part 2". It has over 374 pages.

I don't think it's page quantity-related: some threads with few pages load just as slowly from what I've seen.

Mmm... weird. Well, I don't know what's the problem then.

It still could be the amount of guests, but there's 100 users at most. They are probably checking the database and not the forums anyway. Even if they are, 100 users is still reasonable.

It was slow for me too. It's faster now.

I'm having problems with almost every web sites... I have timeout errors all the times when check my mail on Yahoo. Yesterday, I could only view an image first 15 to 20 lines. (imageshack and others).
