Both are superb pieces! Actually Kaede is one of the theme songs to OverTime drama and Destiny is With Love's theme song.

Looks like Speed is coming back for good. They have several big artiste contributors backin them such as Tommy Feburuary6, Tsunku, Chara etc.! Failure is not an option, either be on the top or in the bottom. Can they win the fan's hearts back? Only time will tell.

I surfed into MixxDreamer's online journal today and heard Crystal Kay's 'Nice and Slow'. I like it. I have heard of her name, but other than that not much really. Anyone care to share more info on her?

hmm... don't really know much about her, but I know she's a Sony artiste together with my favourites like Hirai Ken, Chemistry, SOS, Gospellers etc etc... here's her website from the record company, it has a short bio about her: http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/eng/ES/CrystalKay/

I have listened to a few songs of hers as far as I remember. I know she's not a Japanese, she's half black American and half Korean, correct me If I'm wrong. Her songs are pop oriented but have R&B flavour.

Other than Utada Hikaru, which jpop songs do you think is really good? I only listen to her songs right now. I heard some by Ayumi Hamasaki and Matsu Takako. But I don't really like them. I think their voices are too girly, and probably the melody also. Any suggestions?

Ayumi Hamazaki has to be one of the most overrated singers today. She's had a few decent hits but all her ballads sound the same and her voice is not that good. Credit when credit's due she does write her own music and has done incredibly well for herself, so good on her.
Utada Hikaru has only done a few memorable tunes also.

Well my personal faves are:

Iizuka Mayumi
Do as Infinity
Day after tomorrow
YUKI
Yumi Matsutoya
Plus-Tech Squeeze Box
Morning Musume

It's tough to name them all really, most of the time I just like real fun and energetic tunes. I listen to a lot of j pop, as well as punk and rock.

Mr. Children
Gospellers
Utada Hikaru
Every Little Thing
Amuro Namie
Exile
Chemistry

These are some others in which I don't think you may be familiar with
Nakamori Akina (80's)
Yamashita Tatsuro (80's)
Kitajima Saburo (The godfather of Enka "Sabu-chan")
Ishikawa Sayuri (Enka)

Agree on the Ayu part, disagree on the Hikki part. Utada is one of those rare exceptional artist. She was awesome on Unplugged.

Others that I like:

Morning Musume
Day After Tomorrow
Nakashima Mika
Porno Graffiti

Occasionally I'll like songs from:

Chemistry
BoA
Tackey & Tsubasa (I like yume monogatari)
H!P groups/soloist
SMAP
Misia
B'z
Arashi

Also, I think SPEED's era has long gone and I don't think they can get it back, same with Namie.

And whats up with Exile lately? When did they get popular? They've been flooding the charts with their singles in the past few weeks and its doing well but I don't like any of them.

Btw anybody else heard about Ami Suzuki comming back to the music scene?

My taste leans more to j-rock (Gackt, Hyde, Ellegarden,Spiky, etc.) but there are some jpop singers/groups that I really enjoy too:

V6
Takki & Tsubasa
Chemistry
Garnet Crow
Mika Nakashima (she has such a beautiful voice)
