jalen: Usually they don't sell dvd's. From what I saw at Poh Kim, Hana Yori Dango is the only drama with a dvd version aside from the vcd.

FLenG: i believe locally Poh Kim and TS are the main distributors? dunno where else you can get jdrama.

Ya, as what sunyata had said, Hana Yori Dango is the only drama that I'd seen that there's DVD version, but not the other dramas. I bought it at Compass Point's Poh Kim.. The first time I saw it was like, "WOW!" It is very clear... So clear that I don't feel like I'm actually watching a Jap.drama, haha

I'd only seen jap.dramas sold by TS and POH KIM. The version sold by Poh Kim, is by a Taiwan publisher. I'd so far bought "Stand Up!" and "Hana Yori Dango". I'm quite sure that they copied the drama from the Japan's tv channel.. as when I'm watching HYD there're news of Japan Sweat But that's the only publisher we can rely on.. As Jap.dramas are not famous in Singapore...

The Japan version DVD are so expensive!! Cost $200~$300+... so sad..no $$ to buy... haiZx... always feel like buying them when I saw it at YesAsia.. but it's really so expensive for a secondary student like me Shameful Cry

Yup, btw, the subtitles in HYD DVD version are very reliable!! The chinese & english subtitles are very accurate... BEST BUY EVER TO ME Smile I'd already watched it 3 times since I bought it about 10tens ago, hahaha rofl

Densha Otoko isn't English-subbed. Very few dramas in stores here are. Best to dl them if you really want to read eng sub...it's a trade-off between time of acquirement and comprehensibility.

I think the dvd version is better as it's so damn clear! so clear..

The difference of this drama to the others is that this drama has got a movie effect, you wont feel like you're watching a jap.drama.. It's not like other jap.dramas, which the lighting and effect is so poor, so blur and pale, the colour of the screen... Hana Yori Dango is a must watch!!

P.S: I think you should not buy it at TS as their items are more expensive, perhaps by few $$

Thank you zi91 for replying...
but i'm not buying fr poh kim as the VCD version has two sub, chinese n malay, i dun feel very comfortable when watching a show with two sub, especially with sub tt i dun understand....i will end up getting blur...
so i was hoping tt TS would release the chinese subbed version....i dun mind if it is a few dollars ex...if it can let mi enjoy the show more...
does anyone know when will Brother*Beat VCD be releasing? I love tt show though i only watch the 1st few EP...so can't wait for it to be release...

You're welcome Smile

Ya, if it's me, I'll also pay a few more $$ to enjoy the show, and this is what I did when I'm thinking if I should buy the vcd or dvd version of HYD. But luckily, I'd made the right choice of buying the dvd, it's damn clear hehe

Last time when I saw TS playing a Korean drama by the malaysia's publisher, it has both chinese and malay subs... Just by looking at the screen makes me sick... you know what... the subs. had already covered up half the screen! then what for we buy this version any only able to see HALF THE SCREEN!? just hope that only chinese.subbed version will come out...

Btw, I went to Heartland Mall's TS last night. The jap.dramas are having a 20% discount, and I think it applies to all jap.dramas

Yeah, I mean, I THINK so. But I saw two '20% off Japanese Dramas' signs, so I guess it's on all Japanese drama. Because I only take a glance. Some more the titles there are not a lot..

Btw, TS is having a clearance sale at Tampines Mall, from 20-26 February.
It's located at the first level, think should be at the center atrium?? Got this news from I-Weekly, not very clear about it too

really? at tm? i shall go cc... btw, i don't think that TS will bother coming out with hyd and nobuta vcds anymore actually. since they knew that everyone would've have already bought it from poh kim. what for bringing the stocks in when everyone else already bought them?
