That's nice. Too bad they are no longer accepting other voice talents . By the way, in case you got hired, what kind of voice are you able to do? Is it like Sakuragi's (high-pitched) or Toguro's (low-toned)?

well, actually i'm a member of the female species Smile my voice range is really wide, so i can do a man's voice up to a little headtone-ish. i've dubbed here and there with my friends for personal projects (tagalog na hentai hahahahaha! Twisted saan na ng kaya napunta yung tape nun?). seriously, being a voice talent has been a dream of mine since i was a kid. who knows it may still come true Smile

what's up with those boys not being allowed to drink? I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the NEWS boys (although I saw much of them when I was there, they were just starting then) how old are they? If the person in question is underage then it really is bad for him to be seen drinking, but if he is of age then I don't see the problem. If it's for his image, bakit di na lang sila magpakatotoo kesa may baho silang tinatago diba? and it's not as if the teenagers there (as in any part of the globe) don't have access to liquors. they have vending machines in very convenient places, where there's no need for IDs.

usually, when ilived in tokyo, mga kainuman ko sa tabi ng vending machines pulos high school students! it's indeed very easy to get alcohol if you use them instead of going to stores/kombinis where they ask for your id. weird nga eh, mahigpit sila pero ang dali makakuha Shake Head

anyway, i agree. i think it's all about the image thing and not really about drinking legally. the japanese people, especially the older ones (yung mga bata-bata ewan ko kung naiisip pa nila madalas) are really very conscious about the image they project in public (parang the concept of "honor") . these kids are public figures and they not only represent themselves, but also their agencies. even if drinking is okay for other teens, sa kanila hindi. kasi nga, people look up to them. that's why their talent agencies and managers can be very strict with them... damay sila dun. so if they indeed do something wrong and they are caught redhanded, usually they admit it (wala nang cover-ups) pero may punishment na usually supension and/or public apology (parang yung kay Goro ng SMAP pero mas grabe pa yung sa kanya).

magulo ata 'tong post ko. nasa work kasi ako eh Naughty

subs? dub?

actually this is already a long argument in anime forums.

personally, i would definitely go for subs. for one, i understand the language. two, i'm okay with reading while watching (having always been a viewer of foreign films). last, with subs, we could also hear the original voices of the actors.

however, i also realize that if jdoramas are indeed going to be shown on local free tv, then there is the market to be considered. who will be the audience? mostly the "masa," right? these people will not have the patience to read while watching. it's not that i am belittling (i'm one of those who fight for their causes) them, but it is the truth. their take on it is this: "kaya ako nanonood ng TV ay para makalimutan sa panandaliang aliw ang mga problema sa buhay ko, tapos papagurin nyo pa ako sa pag-basa? sa kabilang estasyon na lang ako manonood!"

sounds capitalistic (kung susuriin ang POV of the tv stations). pero think of one other advantage of going for dubs - it can broaden the entertainment choices/perspectives of its viewers. magigi pang aware sa different asian cultures ang mga pinoy. compare it with their own. it might also give ideas for those in our local industry to do better with our telenovelas.

besides, TV is for everybody, right? dubbing it in Tagalog would make it more accessible to everyone. besides, we have known and appreciated the real thing for years, let's share the pleasure of watching jdoramas with other people. kumbaga, the more the merrier. mahirap na kasi maging elitista, di ba? free country naman ito Smile and if you prefer subs, then there is always the ordering of VCDs and DVDs (o kaya dl ka na lang).

la lang Smile

well, im a fan of subs too.. even if its hard for some viewers to understand, eventually, they will.. one develops his/her reflexes.. and add to that yung uses ng senses mo.. like sight and hearing.. instant multi tasker ka nun and thats only with watching tv..

but.. the thing is, tlagang its close to impossible dahil ang target talaga nila is yung sa papatok sa masa.. why would they launch something na hindi naiintindihan? right? pero personally, i think the media should stop thinking about how much they'll earn on a certain production, thats crap. its always like that. lagi nlng ganon dba? in my opinion, dapat they should concentrate more on what it can teach viewers esp those who are truly interested.. like for example, if theyd bring japanese entertainment without diminishing their language into it, alot of people can learn alot of things about that country(JAPAN) and its not just their language, but also their culture. in time they can appreciate it.. and for me, appreciating a certain country's culture, means appreciating your own too.. kasi meron kang binabasehan which is our own culture, and a person can give importance to it once na nacompare niya yung culture natin from others.. and its not bad.. but its nourishing..nafefeed yung knowledge natin about our neighboring countries..

but, eto n nmn, ang mga "buts", reality bites tlaga, thats why its close to impossilble..

share ko lang yung mga umiikot sa isip ko..

sayonara.

you're right. but then again, it will still take a long while before any tv station would make a move to switch to subs. sabi mo nga:

parang gobyerno, no?

hmmm.... just got me thinking. most of the tv sets in japan are dual audio (i dunno if that's what you call it...) i mean, you can just click a button on the remote and the dubs will disappear so you can hear the original voices of the foreign shows they would broadcast (naalala ko yung dark angel). so they don't really resort to subtitling. pulos dub pero you have the choice to switch to the original audio.

malabo na naman post ko Doh!

But it's not for all programs, selected lang. And current J-doramas have no such function. Sweat

actually, i think i got the things mixed up. the tv sets' "dual audio" works for specific tv programs such as foreign (american) shows that they dub in japanese over there. at the start of the show, there is a printed notice flashed on screen to inform the audience that they can use "dual audio." so the audience had the choice to view them in original english language audio, or in the japanese dubbed audio. kaya, sa japan lang siya mag-wo-work.

the tv in my apartment before had "dual audio" so when i would be a little homesick, i would have the option of watching "dark angel" and "friends" in english on other channels Smile

the point of that post about "dual audio?" well, if we had some system like that here, then people would also have the choice to switch from dubbed to original audio if we want to. so no more argument about dubs and subs Smile

and yeah, old and even not-so-old tv sets are often just left outside for the garbage trucks to pick them up. but only on certain days and you have to notify the sanitation crew about it because you have to pay a certain amount for disposal of electronic stuff.

favorite ko is i could put old newspapers outside my apartment building and the sanitation crew would replace them with fresh rolls of tissue paper Bleah

wish ko lang na sana yung mga newspaper na binibigay ko ay hindi din nila ginagawang tissue paper Victory! Peace!

Ah ok. It's clear to me now. Just as Akasaka Hiker said, that option only works on selected programs. Anyway, the dual audio on tv sets here in our country would be great......if implemented. But I'm afraid that would be somewhat impossible for some reasons (like budget) Sweat .
