I wouldnt say this was the first japanese drama that got me hooked cause it wasn't a japanese drama, it was a hk drama. It was meteor garden but technically... maybe it counts casue i watched it through my infatuation with hana yori dango.

But anyways, even though it was a bad remake of hana yori dango in the second version, it got me looking for more asian live action series. Then came.. majo no jouken, and GTO, and i would have to say:

"Hi my name is SupersumoCG and i am a jdrama addict." Nut

I noticed that a lot of u said GTO....My first jap drama was GTO with chinese subtitles...at that time, I could read only a lil of chinese and I didnt understand japanese, but I still managed to finish that whole drama quickly.....let's just say that even though I didnt understand 100% what was going on, but I still liked the story and Sorimachi....yup, he got me hooked on jap dramas and after that I watched love generation, again without english subtitles and I really loved that drama......yeah, so u can say that it's sorimachi and takuya kimura that got me hooked even until today!

The first Japanese drama that got me hooked was Tokyo Cinderella Story or Sister of Mine....

It has a well developed storyline and the soundtrack is a blast.

Wish I had a prince like that..... Lovey Eyes

Home & Away. It was on International Channel late last year and early this year. I have a soft spot in my heart for it. Especially episode eight. The ending of episode eight opened up a whole new path for me. Before then I was just an anime/Tokusatsu fan. After I saw that episode I realized that Japanese television is full of great shows, and I shouldn't limit myself to one or two genres. I now consider myself a Japanese television fan. ^_^

The d0rama that got me hoOked was GTO. Funny thing is tho... I asked my friend "What's a goOd anime 2 dL?" he said GTO. I found Japan-TV site and dLed what was there and it ended up being the anime. My first impression was like "WTF! THIS IS LIKE LIVE ACTION ANIME!" Sorimachi's my hero. Mr Green
