The short answer is 'Yes'. Apparently Sawajiri's agency wanted to make use of her role as Amane Kaoru in "Taiyou no Uta" to expand her career to include singing.

erika's character in Taiyou no Uta using the name of kaoru amane. so..both of them are the same person.just cant figured out why she didnt use her real name in the single Doh!
