Yes, they are a J-pop girl group consisting of four members. They all are from Hokkaido and have the talent to play their own instruments as well as sing at the same time. Has anyone ever heard their music before? As you can tell from the sig, I'm a pretty big Zone fan. I have their 2nd album and I'm a big fan of their music. I think they are talented, considering their age.......

BTW, Takayo is no longer with Zone, she left recently to pursue a university education.

Here are the members of Zone:

- Miyu (15): Main vocal, guitar
- Mizuho (17): vocal, drum set
- Maiko (17): vocal, bass guitar
- Tomoka (17): vocal, guitar

I was just wondering if any of you guys have heard of this group before.

Well, here is a link to an MP3 torrent of their latest single on Public MM:

http://bunko.theppn.org/details.php?id=3232

Check that one out.

Their style ranges from either the more slower acoustic guitar songs to the upbeat rock style.

Zone is my favourite girl group outside of Hello! Project. It was a bit sad that Takayo decided to leave but I wish her the best in her studies.

I think Tomoka is a good addition, I have yet to see them perform live with her but that shouldn't be too long now since they've already have a new single out.

I've heard of them but never really took interest to see if I knew their music or not. Gonna leech the new album if I can and give an opinion.

Haha yea Hello Project is still tops on my list.

I like Tomoka but I thought it was kinda messed up of the producers for kicking tomoka out of the group in the beginning just because she was too tall. Oh well

Hahaha, yeah that was cold.

In my opinion, Secret Base was their best song and Hanabi a close second. I didn't like their last two singles though. Hopefully there'll be some good songs on their upcoming album.

Yeah, a 3rd place showing for the initial release of their new single is pretty impressive. I'm also happy to see L'arc en ciel back once again. As you can see from my sig banner, I love Zone. But good for them, I have never listened to a song from them in which I didn't like very much.

My personal favourites are "true blue" and probably secret base.

Their latest single "Sotsugyo" sounds pretty good. What I like about them is mostly their personalities and mainly the fact that they have the talent to play their own instruments, which is unique. While I shall miss Takayo greatly, I'm sure that Tomoka will be a good addition.

Yea, I must admit that it was pretty classy of them to sing secret base instead of their other songs. Very nice choice. I like Hitoshizuku a lot also.

Don't worry, we all miss Takayo. You see, I haven't gotten over her leaving yet and thus, I still use an old pic of her as my avatar. I'm sure in due time, we'll grow to except the new member, Tomoka. Speed was great, back in the day. Unfortunately, I think Speed just doesn't have what it takes now to be as successful as they were back in let's say, 1997. Secret base is indeed a very nice song.

Like I said before, I like all of their works, from the slower ballad-based songs like secret base and hitoshizuku to the more upbeat rock ones like true blue and akashi. You can't deny their talent though, especially with Miyu, considering that she herself is going to turn 16 just this year and has already been part of the group since it first started. Thus, she initially debuted just before turning 13.

Considering that their newest single started at #3 just behind L'arc en ciel and Chemistry, that is pretty damn good. Those are some big names.

Yup. You could say that I'm a big fan. Naughty

Zone's new single is alright. And like their last single, I like the B-side song better than the main one. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Yes, Takayo left Zone after her final Kohaku performance at the very end of 2003. She was a guitarist and the leader of the group.

Now a new girl, Tomoka takes over her position. Though, the leader is Mizuho, who plays the drum set. However, Tomoka came from the same talent school in which Zone came from and was part of the original Zone auditions, though she got cut in the end due to her height. Kind of awkward, but now she gets her chance to show her skills.
