i thought i prefer the taiwan version, meteor garden..
i like HYD too.. its refreshin to see a similar story acted by a different cast with diff styles..
but HYD is abit odd sometimes... esp HYD2 some parts of the story doesnt make sense...

It was BEFORE Goro and Miho dated, that's why they can still be seen together in the show....actually it was really close to before they dated^^ I think they've started dating since mid-1999.

As Elaine and Garnet explained, Miho is SataSma's co-host. She usually help Nakai taking care of the baby corner. But later Shingo demand to have Miho accompany his corner too!! It was so funny when Nakai and Shingo were fighting over Miho in SataSma....haha!!

Shingo: Let Kanno Miho be my permanent co-host in my corner! She should stop helping you! Get another female host!!!

Nakai: No! You already have Yuuka and Anzai Hiroko...get them as your co-hosts!! I only have Kanno!

Hahaha....they must liked Miho so much! And believe it or not, this fight happened in the 2000 episodes, when Goro and Miho already dated

Anyway, in that May 15th, 1999 episode. Nakai had to take care the baby for 3 days. Usually he only has to take care of them for 1 day. But this was a special episode for 3 days. Thus, he also has to take the baby everywhere he go, to his drama filming and also SxS filming studio. Where, of course, SMAP members, including Goro were present there.

Then, Nakai called Miho to ask for her help feeding the baby. She came to the studio. And at one moment, Miho said, she has work and she has to go. Nakai said, he's gonna start the ending song filming very soon too. So they decided to take the baby to Goro!!^^ This is probably where you see the scene, Miho handing over the baby to Goro^^

Kimura: Actually....I've once offered Tsuyoshi a ride to his home. He gladly accept it. I was so excited, "Yatta! I can finally know where Tsuyoshi's house is!". Then I asked him, "Where should I stop?". Tsuyoshi said, "Unn...sorosoro(soon), .....here, here...stop here, Kimura-kun!". But I didn't see any house near that area...."Hee?? Seriously, here? Then where's your house??". He said, "Its okay! Thanks alot, Kimura-kun! Ja ne~!". I wait awhile to see where he goes.... but...but... *pretend to cry and sob*... but then he calls a taxi!!!!

Yeah....they could be REALLY MEAN to each other when it comes to bullying. Not only to Goro.... but Nakai is usually really MEAN to Shingo too. But then, sometimes Shingo gets his revenge anyway, in a very MEAN way either, to Nakai. But that's just how they bully each other... And none of them really take it by the heart, either... Shingo always bully Goro and Tsuyoshi....actually, the way Shingo bully Tsuyoshi is even more viscious than how Shingo usually bully Goro. Shingo actually drop his leg onto Tsuyoshi's head, once!!O_O How cruel is that??

But that's just their way... And as weird as it is...that's how they show their love to each other. I've also seen how Shingo smack Tsuyoshi so hard on the face....but then, he soon kiss Tsuyoshi's cheek right after O_o

Haha....Goro is not Shingo's senior at all! They debuted in one group...so that makes them in the same level. And they went to the SAME audition day either as juniors. So, they're totally in the same level^^

But actually, Goro and Shingo might have the longest history, an on and off, love and hate relationship? LOL! Goro thinks his relationship with Shingo is just fine, but Shingo thinks otherwise. It took them 12 years since their first met, until they manage to have a nice and calm conversation alone, just the two of them. It took Shingo 12 years to finally realized Goro's good sides and finally told him his phone number. But even after that, Shingo still says he cannot stand Goro from times to times. But again, on other times, Shingo feels very grateful to Goro for the big supports Goro gave him. And at another time, Shingo also realized how many bad things he has done to Goro. But later, he usually does not hesitate to repeat the same thing, when he feels upset to Goro^^ While Goro himself, had always been confused with Shingo's back and forth attitudes toward him. However, in the past two years...I think their relationship is getting more stable, as Shingo admitted cheerfully in Bistro that he went to a Fashion Select Shop together with Goro, just the two of them. (I can't even imagine that myself O_o ShinGoro going to a select shop together?! lol!)

Thanks Yanie for the explanation. The Tsuyoshi-Kimura part was really hilarious!!! Sometimes the ending talk shows how close they are, yet sometimes it shows how much they don't know each other well at all.

I meant Senior as in age, isn't Japan the sort of country where you have to act graciously to people older than you? But then again, Shingo and Goro are only a few years apart.

I feel that everytime I see a new image or video of Miho, she will look very different from the last time I saw her. She's pretty and I really wonder what she and Goro do when they are on a date? Do they even live together?

Goro strikes me as the type who would be better off with an older woman though. Whatever it is, it's time for the SMAP members to get married! They are definitely not young anymore!!

I think, the person Goro fear the MOST in SMAP is Nakai!!

In Utaban, Goro told them the Three Incidents with Nakai. The first one, Goro had borrowed Nakai's bicycle long ago back when they were juniors. That time, Goro went back to the dorm(where he share the same room with Nakai, I think) in a rush. And he forgot to bring back the bicycle, he left it at the NHK parking lot. When he told Nakai about this, Nakai got raged, "What are you doing??! When you borrow someone's stuff you should've taken care of it well!!! I don't know how, you have to bring that bicycle back to me!!!".

Second incident, it was after the closing ceremony of Seishun Kazoku(Goro's debut drama in NHK). Goro cried...coz that time he was still a little boy (15^^) and he felt like the whole casts and drama staff are just like his own family... he was really sad. When he's back to the dorm, he told Nakai how sad he was and that he cried in the ceremony. Nakai didn't comfort him at all, but scold him instead...lol!!
"How old are you??! Why did you cry?? They're not your real family...let it go, dont be such a crybaby!!!".
In that Utaban, Nakai comments, "Well, I mean...really...they were not your real family anyway...right??!". Goro was startled, "Ahhh....that's how he said it that time!! Like this, exactly!!". Taka-san and Nakai laughs. Goro said, "He has not changed at all! Kowaaai(so scary)....."

Third incident, that time before their debut, SMAP went to Hawaii for CM filming... Somehow...probably because each members' schedules....Nakai and Goro were left alone, and the two of them had to go home the latest. Nakai and Goro took a bus to the airport. On the bus, Nakai put his favorite straw-hat above the seat... Goro himself got many bags with him, and he just put it like that above the seat too. When they arrived at the airport, apparently Goro's bags press Nakai's straw-hat and so the form becomes crumpled. Nakai scold him, "You should've seen my straw-hat there!!! Now the form becomes irregular!! What are you doing!!". Hahaha....from the way how Goro try to imitate how Nakai scold him...it seems to me like Nakai was really fierce that time Yappari...yankee desu ne!

On the marathon batsu Nakai and Goro got for the SxS Grand Prix 2000 penalty, Nakai said to Goro, "I'm telling you now...don't complain if my speed is faster than you...I won't wait for you!". At first, Nakai left Goro behind....but after about 100 metres, Nakai slow down his speed...and when Goro got close, I was surprised to see Nakai grab Goro's wrist...telling him to speed up!^^ But....in the end, it was Nakai who got left behind. There was something wrong with Nakai's calf...it swollen. But a few kilometres before the goal, Goro waited for Nakai. Nakai's smile when he sees Goro waited for him and how Nakai said, "Goro-chan...".... was really....priceless!

In Utaban, Nakai hated Goro's style how he usually put his 2 fingers on his forehead....he said, that style of Goro always upsets him so much!! But when Goro returned from the traffic violation suspend....when Goro pose that style in Bistro...Nakai looks sooooo happy!!! And he immediately ask Goro to repeat that style again...and also to spin and so it becomes "Sankyuu Goro"(Goro's old skit)!!! Kawaiiiii~~!!!

Basically, Nakai and Goro....just doesn't work =P Nakai said over and over the member he cannot get along the most with, is Goro. He would never want to be left alone with Goro. After the Za Gyoten show, in a related topic, he was asked, "If you have to be a surrogate mother for any of the SMAP members, who would you lend your uterus to?". Nakai thought of it for a few secs, "Mmmmmmmmm............definitely NOT to Goro-chan!!!".

However...I guess, if he didn't get to meet Goro for a few months, he'll end up missing Goro anyway^^

I think, its difficult to get a clear picture of what is THE REAL DEAL between Nakai and Goro just by reading what I wrote for you... Unless you observe them more, watch them more....and then you'll just learn more about them gradually^^

While Goro...he's the type who can actually laugh at himself. So...I dont think he's mind being bullied either. And it's like a pact already in SMAP to keep the balance...and to make the shows interesting. The 3 extroverts bullies the 2 introverts.

In 2003, Goro and Miho once lived in the same building. Goro at the upper floor. Miho at the lower floor. But one day, Miho moved out....I think due to one of their breakups^^ Now they live in different buildings.

i totally agree with you!! they probably don't get along much and nakai probably doesn't like goro that much but they care about each other. just like brothers. they get into fights but at the end of the day they're still family and care about each other.

No, I think it is a negative joke to non-SMAP fans. Not everyone is as kind to SMAP as we are. Like even for me, a SMAP fan, I think it is unacceptable for a band to sing this badly. That's because I'm really into music and I guess people like me in Japan will feel the same. Fortunately, I am a girl (a HOPLESS FANgirl) so SMAP is still saikou. I don't think the GUYS who are into music (which would be A LOT since Japan's music scene is so rich and Japan HAS a lot of guy) would feel the same as the Japanese females.

On being influential - Madonna, influential in the world, but still a source of criticism for just about everything - from her clothing, to not dancing and dressing like her age, to her adoption.

i was looking at it from two sides in my answer

1. the fun joking way - that is, the part where smap makes fun of themselves

and

2. my negative definition of a joke is that they're pathetic, which smap isn't. almost everything they touch is gold. they dominate in dramas, cms, variety shows, and surprisingly, even music hehe. their concerts are always sold out and they play in big domes and stadiums. other famous people that they work with respect them or think highly of them. in every show they're in, they're always the focus or given the most talking time.

i guess i was just putting my two cents on smap and not really paying attention to the intention of the original people that called smap a joke.

i know that there are plenty of negative people that think poorly of smap but who cares. i never saw them as singers but as entertainers. singing is just part of the occupation. they're wonderful entertainers, who cares if they can't sing well. even if they don't sing well, they can still make people happy. if you really want good singers then there are other choices, you probably shouldn't go to smap . but if you want to be entertained or touched then smap is the right group for you.

there will always be people that criticize artists for something or another. however, the number of people that respect smap for their career greatly outweighs the people that dislike them. and that's not just because i'm a fan that i think that. i'm a practical person that knows when her artist is crappy in something and will gladly admit it. i'm just saying, smap are quite incredible.

god, ARE there any fans that love smap primarily because of their singing? haha

ne Taisuke, Japan's people usually smoke and drink. Its rarely to see they didn't smoke at all. Me also can't accept the fact that smap members is smoke, but it doesn't matter at all. As long as they still our smap, I try to accept it (even its hard for me coz I hate smokers )

i guess it's because my dad smokes so it doesn't really bother me. but you know, as singers they shoudl know better than to mess up their voices with smoking.
