Tell you something . . . I don't like my location, I LOVE my location. If I mention that I was born and raised in Hawai'i, heck, I can already hear the "you lucky bum" comments 'cross the planet. True we don't have everything the mainland can offer just by driving off to another state, but we got our share of Starbucks, malls, restaurants, many other wants and needs facilities to compliment our great weather and high spirits, and that's just on the island of Oahu alone.
You can drink water from the tap without dying or getting sick. There's more fresh air than land over our humble archipelago, so, no pollution. Our citizenry can boast one of most longest life-expectencies of anywhere else on the planet. There's a balanced demographic here that'd put Middle Earth to shame, even, filled with Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese, Africans, Koreans, Caucasians, Pacific Islanders, and many more (President John F. Kennedy cited Hawaii as an example of how the rest of the world should be).
We never have to buy clothes as the climate changes (it's sunny each day of the year). We can walk around in long pants, shorts, aloha shirts, t-shirts, slippers or shoes; and formal wear (for guys, at least) is aloha shirts and slacks. And the food's great.
And we're the 11th largest metropolitan city . . . in the U.S. if I'm not mistaken.
Do I like this place? I approach the sunset each day I leave work for home. You tell me if I love this place.
Sorry for bragging. Anyway, some of you may have different 'pinons of my aina.

As for me... Even though I'm in Hawaii myself, I might as well be living in Wyoming or in the Dakota's. I don't enjoy the natural resources my location offers: sun, surfing, beaches, etc. I do get to enjoy the dozens of golf courses here, and I just love the crap out of Waikiki for obvious reasons . But other than that, I'm just taking up space.

I've been to New Hampshire twice to visit my family there (Portsmouth to be exact).... I love camping in North Conway, and also the fried seafood and REAL clam chowder when I drive up into Kitery, Maine.

i've lived in south carolina, albany ny, long island, japan, okinawa, florida. i love southern california. weather's usually great, lots of places to go, not too far from las vegas, bay area, san diego, tijuana, grand canyon... i don't miss winter at all - who needs all the snow? thai town, korea town, little tokyo, chinatown - it's great. traffic is not good, we have smog, gangs are here (well, they're everywhere anyway eh?), gotta take the bad with the good, no place is perfect. i love it here, wouldn't live anywhere else.
