so far i have only seen ep.2&3 but still haven't see ep.1....but i like this series already bcoz of sato ryuta, kazuki, sasaki and mukai osamu...im so glad to c mukai in new drama after nodame and he have quite bigger role here...

im only up to ep 5... gonna dl n watch ep 6 later... its getting really good...

i kind of stopped watching Bambino at ep5. It just gets frustrating
Its mainly because I dissapproved of Ban's whiny-ness..

HOWEVER,
after a 2nd try, this series is REALLY good.

I love the message they are trying to convey & how i got sucked in by the emotion with the cast performance (esp Matsumoto.. he deserves the award). Yes, its a bit cheesy & Jun overacted sometimes but its effective!

I love this show. Half the time I am either crying or laughing. This reminds me so much of what I have gone through and am still going through. I was Ban and still am Ban. It is amazing how realistic the screenwriters are. I wonder if people go through the same experiences in film industry. Well, actually, after watching this show, I believe they do, otherwise they would not know about such things.

I watched Bambino during a Japanese dramathon after getting my weekly pay. That was worth every cent. I wonder if there are any more cooking dramas out there.

The way the Japanese dramatize cooking is way better than how their Singapore or Taiwanese counterparts do it. That's how drama should be done! You have a core theme (italian cooking in this case) and all other sub themes revolve around the core theme. It is a delicate balancing act. The way so many Singapore made dramas does it is to have generous amounts of so many themes (cooking, romance, friendship, social issues and etc...) tossed together in the frying pan, and you end up not knowing what it is! I mean is it fried bits of rice with egg or fried egg with bits of rice?

What was that Japanese phrase again? It refers to the sports manga genre where the protagonist goes through training regimes to overcome trials ... or something like that. There's something about that in Bambino, the way Bambi goes through his self inflicted training regimes to overcome problems at work.

I actually worked in kitchens all over England so I can understand what Bambino went through. And yes, apart from a few minor technical details, they did a very accurate portrayal of what a real kitchen is like. The beatings and scoldings and so on... yes I went through those too. Because when you are a Chinese working in English kitchens, you should expect that. I had fond memories too... My own Bambino training regimes to overcome difficulties in the kitchen. Like when the chefs complained I was too slow peeling potatoes, I would do lots of overtime just so I can do it right and fast.
