Muack Muack Muack THAT'S THE ONE ! GENIUS ! Thank you so much for your time Runpup and Shari.

Yep< That's the old man I was looking for Tsugawa Masahiko. I finally discover his name when i watched Musashi and Karei-naru Ichizoku recently. He's always in cameo roles but he commands so much stage presence that i usually forgets who he is acting with....hee hee.
Bonk
I had been searching through the mainstream jdoramas and taiga dramas. It really didn't occur to me there is a separate category called Morning Dramas. In so finding this drama, I also found the names of the first on-screen couple that I really like. w00t! w00t!

so utterly gorgeous still, both of them Nut Nut Nut

I tracked the shows they were in and I realised I have probably seen them but I didn't recognise them.......one gone fatter, the other gone thinner ... rofl rofl

dun't think the current dramas can ever match that kind of viewers' ratings (55%). I thought perhaps in 1985 there were more housewives then ??

i browsed through the earlier and later dramas that fall under "Asadora dramas" & I found Oshin ! Oshin is the only drama that beats Mio-Tsukushi at 62%. Coincidentally, I also found some of the A-class artistes in those morning dramas before they became famous......like Nanako Matsushita, the girl who acted as Nurse Aoi, Kimura Takuya's girlfriend in Long Vacation etc.

IF ONLY I CAN WATCH IT ALL OVER AGAIN.......

Sawaguchi Yasuko was my idol in the 80's, but in Shinsengumi I was so shocked to see how much she'd aged that it's just way too painful to watch any scenes she's in... Shameful Cry

A friend asked me (and yes, it's not me U Suck) about a drama where a girl, dressed as a boy, goes to an all-boy school. One guy thinks he's weird because he falls in love with a guy, who is really the girl mentioned. Probably not too hard, but my knowledge in J-dramas is quite limited.

So anyone knows what J-drama it is?

Ok, as I said in the subject line, I need help finding out the name of a certain Japanese TV drama made in the 1990s. The problem is I watched it back in 1997 and can't remember even the name of characters. So I will attempt to put in as much information as I can remember and hope some Jdorama expert can help me.

Characters

The heroine is a little girl. She's an orphan attending Junior High I think. She's staying at a rich household but she's always mistreated. Everyone at the house hates her. The ojou-sama, the housekeeper and the other servants too. She has few friends.

Friend of heroine #1 - She's another orphan girl living at the house and attending same school. She's also always mistreated. I think they were after some huge fortune belonging to a mysterious old man or something.

Friend of heroine #2 - He's the hero. A student who's also a boxer. He acts as a protector. Boxing is one of the sub-themes in this series.

The Ojou-sama - She's one of the many antagonists of the heroine. Always bullying the poor girls. A spoiled rich girl type. She also is responsible for hatching many of the plots against the orphan girl. She also likes reciting metaphors when she bullies the heroine. Goes something like this... 'If I am the princess who lives in the grand castle, you are the poor servant girl in the cellar...'

Housekeeper - Underling of the ojou-sama. Fat woman who likes beating up small girls and lower ranking servants.

There's also a blind police detective in the series.

The series I watched back in 1997 in Singapore was a sequel I think. There were flashbacks of a previous series I think... And lots of twists and turns in the plot. Betrayal and all that. Another show with dark themes like kou kou kyoshi but with a happier ending if I remember correctly.

Incidentally, no one has any answers to my kou kou kyoshi questions?

^ That sounded a bit like Oni no Sumika, but that drama was made in 1999, so I don't think that's it. Don't remember a boxer or blind police detective either. Here's the link to that drama, just in case:

Thanks Cori for replying. But the drama you linked to is definitely not the one I was talking about. The heroine in my drama was younger than 16 and shorter too. Like a primary school girl I think.

And I definitely remember the boxing. There were scenes of boxing in it. And the blind police detective is another important character.

And a huge fortune left by this old man is definitely the core theme. He was looking for the 'real heir' or something like that.

I watched this drama when i was grade-shooler .This drama is made in 1990s . I'm Vietnamese. So, i can't remember it's japanese name. But, title of this film is translated from Vietnamese. It means "extremely odd girl" (in my memory ^^, it's named like that).
Synopsis : A girl works in the factory. She is very pretty girl (it's i feel when i saw her). But she has a strange habit. She is very like candy. She always takes it on her. Suddenly, she dashes a man at her office. A man is her former. But she's never seen him. He is handsome. When he go into the lift, she rush forward and give him one candy. She picked his handkerchief. "otto" is the word that's broided on this handkerchief. And it is only thing can help her find him.
This drama ends by scene : She fall asleep on negotiating table. He came, wake her up and give her a candy !

I can't tell you its story in detail. That's all i remember. Hope i remember rightly !
Can you help me find the name of this japanese drama and the actress's real name ?

Thank in advance !
