Watched ep 1 of Houkago, from 1992...well, just another body switching comedy...this is a short one, just 5 episodes...I must say Mizuki Arisa is a doll...Ryoko Shinohara is supposed to be in this show, I may not have recognized her in the 1st ep since she was so young...

For an outstanding performance by Shinohara Ryoko as a young, sexy, dumb blond (minus the blond part) watch Gift.

finished First Kiss

hmm... around 7/10

an okay dorama. not dissapointing, but not a must-watch. it is worth watching though. like i mentioned before, it's repetitive. and the pace is a little slow.

i love love love the casts. all of them. well, Matsuyuki Yasuko was okay, but i don't remember watching her in any series before so i guess it's the first time i've ever seen her in a dorama. i also love the chemistry between the casts. these two things are the best things about the dorama IMO.

saw first kiss but didnt really liked it as much...
I did saw Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta and that series is funny...
Nakama Yukie did a nice job portraying the character, hahaha

Now, the ones im eagerly awaiting subs on are hatachi no koibito and swan no baka... actually watching them now without subs but i'm missing a lot of the story coz there's only bits and pieces i could understand. Both series seems to be quite good

Eve,

Quote:
Finished Dandori.

We both really liked it.

A few extra predictable moments towards the end but no real complaints,

Lots of predictable moments... but that's one of the things that made it fun.

It follows very much in the line of "Swing Girls" "Lina Linda" "Hula Girls"

The old, an unlikely group has a dream, they stick to it, work hard, bond as a team, and triumph.

It's a great formula.

Wynter

Yup. Kanno Miho's character kept me watch Churasan long after I'd run out of patience with that show. (A product of the way they show Asadoras in Northern California. The shows go on once a week for a year and a half, and by the end you just want to see everyone hit by a bus.)

If you like Miho in that one, be sure to watch "Ai no Uta"

I agree totally. It was just what the Doctor ordered for some positive thinking.

Wasnt the father in Yasashii, Terao Akira, the same as the teachers dad in Dandori?

Also any suggestions on whether to watch Coach or Aijou Ippon! next?

Still not up for anything serious and it will be very hard to top Yasashii Jikan in that department anyway.

Suna no Utsuwa is a must-watch. It's a serious drama, if you are ready for one.

I have Ai no Uta. I think I'll move it up on my watch list to increase my exposure to Kanno. Right now I don't know if it's the character I really enjoy, or the actress who portrays it.

She was great in that drama, but I liked her a bit more in Churasan. For a completely different type of character, you should check out Iguana no Musume.

And I hope you put Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta Koto up high on your list too. I think you'll like that one.

Ai No Uta is one of Kanno Miho's great dramas, a must see....
Of course for me, Kanno Miho will always be Marya in Churasan, nothing will compare to that. I don't think I could stand watching Churasan or any other asadora once a week for - I guess 15 minutes or was it 30?
I heard that Sakura also suffered the same fate in your neighborhood.
Just saw another Magnificent Kanno Miho drama - "Kaikyou o Wataru Violin" - another must see for Kanno fans. An absolutely startling difference in her portrayal of the female lead.
Victory! Peace!
