The newest issue of FRIDAY magazine reports that actor Shun Oguri and actress Yu Kashii may be romantically involved. According to the article, the two were seen on a late-night date in a Tokyo park in early October, and earlier this month Kashii spent a night at Oguri's apartment.
Oguri and Kashii appear together in the second "Detective Conan" drama special, which is scheduled to air around the end of this year.
Kashii's agency has denied that they are dating.

Oricon recently conducted a survey about which celebrities look best in glasses. Among males, comedy duo Ogiyahagi ranked highest, while Angela Aki was the most popular answer for female celebrities.
Oriental Radio's Shingo Fujimori came in second among male celebrities, followed by Masaharu Fukuyama, who was the most popular choice by women taking the survey. The rest of the men's top ten were Norito Yashima, Bae Yong Joon, baseball manager Atsuya Furuta, Tamori, Joe Odagiri, Teppei Koike, and George Tokoro.
Among female celebrities, "megane idol" Ami Tokito ranked second. Comedian Yasuko Mitsuura (of Oasiz) was 3rd, ahead of popular talento Kaori Manabe. Others on the list were Tommy february6 (a persona of musician Tomoko Kawase), Miho Takagi, Shoko Nakagawa, Takako Matsu, Yasuko Matsuyuki, and Hikaru Utada. _________________

I just read that Goto Maki's brother was arrested AGAIN. This time he and his "friends" beat up a security guard while trying to steal stuff once more. I actually feel sorry for her, even though she was with the Hello! Project, but having such an incredibly stupid brother, poor her. _________________

Oricon recently asked a thousand men and women which artist of the opposite sex they would sing karaoke to.
The top choice by men was Ai Otsuka, known for many lively hits such as "Sakuranbo." YUI ranked second, followed by a tie for third between Miyuki Nakajima and Ayaka, while aiko ranked fifth.
Women, on the other hand, favored KinKi Kids. The next most popular choices were L'Arc~en~Ciel, Porno Graffiti, Mr.Children, and Kobukuro.

TOKYO -- Takeshi Kaneshiro and Takako Matsu will star in "K-20: Kaijin niju menso den" (The Fiend With Twenty Faces), a mystery inspired by the work of Japanese scribe Edogawa Rampo.
Based on a novel by So Kitamura that uses Rampo's most famous characters, pic is set in a fictional Japanese city in 1949. Kaneshiro plays the titular master criminal and Matsu his victim. Toro Nakamura co-stars as a detective.
Shimako Sato will helm the film, while Robot Communication will handle production chores, with shooting skedded to start in January and wrap in April. Among members of the production consortium are the NTV network and Toho, which is planning to release the pic in December 2008.
The budget has not yet been announced.

Actress Erika Sawajiri caused a traffic accident in Tokyo on Monday. Fortunately, no one suffered any injuries.
Sawajiri was driving in the Meguro ward of Tokyo at around 9:00pm on December 17. She was making a right turn at an intersection, and her car came in contact with a motorcycle making a left turn from the opposite direction.
The driver, a man in his twenties, was not injured. The police are treating the incident as a traffic accident resulting in property damage.

Former pop singer Goto Yuuki (21) has been re-arrested for robbery and assault. As the leader of a group of teenage thieves, he was arrested in October for stealing 48 coils of copper electrical wiring (worth about \470,000) from a Tokyo construction site in July. The latest arrest is for a similar robbery in September, in which a 57-year-old security guard was severely beaten. Goto is accused of threatening the guard with a steel pipe and saying "If you try to stop us, we'll kill you!" He has confessed to the crimes, saying he and his gang committed about 10 such robberies. Goto had a brief fling with a pop career in 2000 as one half of the duo EE Jump, but his underage drinking and clubbing brought it to an early end. He is the younger brother of former Morning Musume member Goto Maki (22), who quit the Hello! Project after the first arrest and is now trying to build a solo career.
