Kirei....I'll get you a list soon. I thought it'd be easy, but because l'arc cover such a wide range of music (even to this day) it'll take a while. Some of the bands I name may only sound like L'arc for that specific song only. Hmmm.....it'd also help if you told me what you liked about l'arc's old style whether it being more light or whether you like their ballads and stuff.

Moccona-> Ordering online? I'm not sure it's possible... You know, I don't think that Yesasia.com or Amazon.co.jp make sendings to Italy... and there are also other problems... for example I don't know Japanese, so I can't order in Japanese sites, then I don't trust very much doing online shopping and last but not least sendings to Italy from Japan are veeery expensive... I've sent a few weeks ago some presents to my Japanese penpal and it has been really expensive!
Sorry, I'll look back to find the answers to my questions... 40 pages are awaiting for me...
Oh, I didn't want to see you and Juliana fight.... Ehehehe... I was just curious to know who owns more stuff about Laruku, who has gone to more concerts etc etc, that's all!

You practically answered your own question.. why don't you have your Japanese penpal buy the things you want for you? You can send the money to them, or transfer some other way. Not a bad idea, some of my friend's penpals do that sort of thing for him and vice versa.

Juliana and me fight? No way,... or maybe if:
We went to a concert together and sometime before/during/after the show L'Arc throws something into the crowd of fans and Jules and I both catch whatever that is,...one hand each on whatever it is...

Moccona-> I could never ask a friend to spend all those money for me... And sending money is expensive too... It's all bloody expensive for me...
But I checked yesasia.com and it's possible to make sendings to Italy too!!!
But it's expensive... I have to add 25 euros to every sending, and this is not surely cheap... Anyway we'll see, in ten days it's gonna be my birthday and I've asked my sister to buy me something from that site...
Ehehehe... you and Juliana fighting for something from Laruku... eheheh... It's a funny scene!!
It would be like this:
-Hyde throws something from the stage
-Moccona and Juliana both tries to catch it
-One of you wins the fight
-The other one isn't surely happy
-Hyde sees this scene and send a kiss to the loser of the fight
-Juliana and Moccona are happy and friends again!!
Ohohohohohohoh!!! What about Brazzy?? He's totally ...
Moccona...is it expensive to send regular letters to japan from canada? Because if it isn't do you think you can send me a few l'arc en ciel guitar picks. Like whichever ones you can find, preferably for guitar but I don't mind having bass picks as mementos. I'll pay you back whatever the cost is in Canadian money...cause I'm not sure how to use paypals yet unless you teach me. I can understand if you can't do this though so don't worry bout it.

It's worth every Euro I say.. I've bought stuff online before and I found it saved me and my friend heaps of money just by ordering stuff together.. maybe you can have a friend with similar interests to order stuff at the same time as you from the same website? Hmmm. Good luck

Where do I get L'Arc picks from? It wouldn't cost 'that' much to send a regular letter to Canada anyway..

it's rather hard to explain... the one i like most from L'arc is that they explored a wide and unusual melody, very deep, harmonic and varies in emotions... yeah myb mostly it's becoz Hyde's singing style ( I've been listening Flower for years and i keep singing it like i when first knew it ) but tetsu's bass had also changes though and Ken... yeah he seems to dominate L'arc songs nowadays. The earlier L'arc... in several songs you can't even had an idea who's the main instrument of the songs... you know i love L'arc not becoz they 'r a good j-rock band but it becoz yeah this is L'arc... these are several songs that resemble my most beloved music style of L'arc : Flower, Nemuri ni yosete, natsu no yuutsu, white feathers, Kaze no yuku e, C'est la vie and Singin' in the rain ... yeah it could be nearly ballad but it isn't _________________

Kirei....I've been searching a lot to find bands that come close to early l'arc stuff and what I found was....................................................................no bands really have that style. X Japan and Luna Sea don't have the same happiness as l'arc, Glay's not as hypnotizing, and B'z are too happy. The closest I've come to L'arc early work is Ken's solo project (Sons of all Pussy) because they got Sakura back and Ken's in it, but without Hyde they don't have the same effect (Ken's vocals not as strong as Hyde's). I find some Nirvana stuff sounds like their early work because they're music is very raw also yet emotional, but most songs won't sound the same. Incubus can also leave you listening to them for hours and Red Hot Chili Peppers mimicks some of their happier songs. Some songs by Hide sound like them too. When I figure out how to categorize l'arc more better I'll give you more bands. O ya the Strokes are also a happy band, but they're music is very 70's so unless you like that you might not wanna try it out. Sorry for not being much help, but the main reason people listen to L'arc is because no one can imitate their style of song writing.
I'm surprised that they sound different in their latest album. I never really liked their tunes, cos most of their songs were too rock, I prefer sounds similar to that in Roentgen .. BUT I find myself really liking this new release, the cover art smiley face is exactly how I felt when I listened to some of the tracks. In fact, Hyde's 666 is more of a rock album than L'arc-en-ciel's Smile.

Hmmm, interesting conversation going on in this thread at the moment. Saying that 'this band and that band don't quite sound the way L`Arc do' and all,..
... i mean, those bands themselves don't really have their own counterparts either i guess. Anyway,..

That doesn't depict me in the slightest. I started listening to them years ago and I guess I was hooked by the way the songs made me feel inside.. in saying so doesn't assume it was the style of song writing that hooked me. Other bands that were mentioned- Glay, B'z, Luna Sea, HIDE, X-Japan, etc.. I like them all. Following this:

I couldn't agree more.. these are the kind of songs that make me love listening to L'Arc~en~Ciel. Others including songs like Anemone, The Silver Shining, The Rain Leaves a Scar, etc..
Yet I love songs that are on the other end of the scale like Ready Steady Go too of course.. i guess it depends on my mood which determines what I want to listen to out of my collection at any particular time.
I'm interested in 'why' you guys also enjoy L'Arc's songs, so please fill me in! Don't just answer with 'THEY ROCK!!! (although they do! (^^):: ) so yeah.. I myself should elaborate a bit more on my reasons, but for now i'll wait a bit first before posting.
p.s. I just bought Utada Hikaru's Single Collection Vol. 1 today (^^)v

No way... after I've seen laruku members' autographs I'm sure Juliana is their best supporter...
I don't think Laruku could be compared to other bands... You know, for example X-Japan made a different rock, closer to the western hair metal. And they were famous ten years ago, music background was different at that moment. They're nothing like Luna Sea, and nothing like B'z (who tried often to copy Aerosmith... listen to "bad communication" or "don't leave me"...).
Western music is quite different... and especially at the moment is going in another direction, looking for sonorities that belongs to the past (listen to Jet's "are you gonna be my girl"... very similar to Iggy Pop's "lust for life").
Laruku have got their own style, they just do the music they like, nothing more nothing less. Of course they like other bands and it's possible to recognize tributesu to a particular artist in a particular song, but generally there isn't a common style for an entire album, and this is Laruku's dna: they like to do a song like "revelation", very close to early Marilyn Manson style, and put it before a track like "hitomi no jyuunin", that is completely different... What do these songs have in common? The beautiful Hyde's voice, that's some kind of Laruku's trade mark.
I appreciate a lot Hyde's solo career... indeed I like "Roentgen" more than any Laruku's album... but of course this is just an opinion. It's really nice that a wise guy like Hyde decided to express his creativity not trying to change Laruku but producing something really original. I still have to hear Ken's solo album; "666" isn't as good as "Roentgen", but cannot be compared because it's much different.
In Italy we have a singer whose voice is even better than Hyde's one and whose style is quite similar to some Laruku's songs... but it's not famous abroad to it's unuseful for me to talk about him!!!
