He has appeared on the show.

Ishimatsu, btw, back in his younger days (the mid-1970's I think) held the lightweight world championship belt in boxing, back when there was only one world champion for each weight class.

He has since put on a considerable amount of weight (but haven't we all-- well, at least I have).

The guy still looks tough; age and weight have made him even more physically menacing.

Dotch Cooking ended its run in Japan I think about a year ago, so that's why it's gone. I dunno if "San-pun Cooking" is still on in Japan, but channel 18 stopped running it about the same time they stopped the asadoras which was about a year ago also.

3-pun Cooking is still aired in SF (Sundays on KTSF), and I believe I saw it on KIKU (when I was in Hawaii)

3 minute cooking show

Hmm, was it a show with a lady and no music at all(quiet atmosphere)?

I think I saw that a couple of times before, I liked it when it was on.

I still miss Dotch Cooking Show, anyone know if episodes are uploaded anywhere like on a site like youtube?

3 minute cooking had a little intro theme, but there was no music during the show. They had several different women that rotated doing the cooking. What cracked me up was there was this guy that was the assistant and he always had the most intense look on his face while he watching them prepare the dishes. It was like he was watching somebody split the atom. hehe

I've been watching some eps of Dotch on disc...always fun to watch...and I actually learn a thing or two in terms of cooking tips...it's so droolworthy...it's painful...as it only highlights how bad we have it here in comparison...regarding Japanese cuisine....and we actually have it better than most of the nation!
