I just watched Sono Toki wa Kare ni Yoroshiku, and totally expected a whole lot of emo (and got a whole lot of emo)... but I'm floored! Japan finally gave a decently happy ending?!?
Who woulda thought a happy ending would ever feel like a major twist?
I don't know if this is the best place to post this... but did her head get bigger?
I was watching Last Friends, and her face, especially lower half, seemed way bigger than I remember and seemed to have aged so much. I gave her benefit of doubt because her role was recipient of DV, so she probably had different makeup, but... from past few photos, Non-no, Calpis factory, Knorr etc, it seems the show wasn't an exception.
I'm not sure if she's gained weight or something, but she looks like an Obasan now. Totally lost that charm she had before IMO.
Heh, seriously! I'm used to Japan giving me angst and ending it with angst, so it was a great shock to have a happy ending.
Personally, I think it's her hair... she looks way better with straightened hair than waves. It's amazing what a difference hair makes, especially for framing one's face.
I originally thought the question was more of a "Did she get an inflated ego?" and not literally if her head got bigger.

Masami Nagasawa to star in Fox-produced film
Fri, August 15, 2008 (1:32am EDT)
Actress Masami Nagasawa has been selected to star in a movie called "Gunjo," directed by Yosuke Nakagawa. It is based on a novel by Ayako Miyagi that began serialization in a magazine last December and is being published in book form at the end of next month.
Set in Okinawa, the story follows a young woman dispirited by her boyfriend's death, trying to get her life back together with the help of her seafaring father and a childhood love. The film also looks at the lives of the Okinawan "uminchu" (pearl divers).
Filming started last month and already wrapped up on August 5. Highlights include super-wide ocean shots and Nagasawa's first actual love scene.
Kuranosuke Sasaki is playing Nagasawa's father. Other cast members include Seiji Fukushi, Shinji Rachi, and Misato Tanaka. Miyuki Hatakeyama is singing the theme song.
"Gunjo" will be just the second Japanese film produced and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Release is scheduled for spring 2009, though Fox is aiming to premiere it at the Berlin International Film Festival in February.
