What a coincidence, I was just going to start Overtime! So I'll watch that... I've already seen Orange Days and liked it a lot. Any others? There must be more.

ok.. she's mighty cute with that smile and very pleasing demeanor.
she should stick with doing cms ONLY.

Well... Shouldn't you first at least try a few songs before telling she should not sing? Crazy

Ningen Shikkaku, or Garasu no Kamen. So much better than the overhyped Last Friends.

I wonder why you donLt like Last Freinds that much? Especially after Ueno Juri is in it Wink
No, i think it was very good. Good cast, good story, not "too typical j-dorama." I only thought the end was a bit lame.

Don't get us started, lol.

To simply put, the huge potential the show had at the very beginning was destroyed by horrid pacing, plotlines, and blatant ratings seeking (increased DV for the sake of ratings not storyline). If there was a way to completely eliminate the DV storyline or minimize it down so that the storylines of the other characters could have been properly completed (namely, Ruka and Takeru), it would have been immensely better. But unfortunately due to the apparent desire to maintain these high ratings, they cut out a lot of the development of this storyline and didn't even give a solid end to their primary storyline.

Nevertheless, if I had to put a show up against it that was somewhat identical, I'd say LIFE sounded like the closest in recent history, and several people seemed to like it:

Quote:
Adapted from Keiko Suenobu's manga "LIFE," this drama delves into the dark side of high school life. The story focuses mainly on bullying, but the manga also touches on subjects such as self-mutilation, suicide, and rape. Kitano Kii stars as Ayumu Shiiba, one of the students bullied by a group of classmates led by Ayumu's former friend, Manami Anzai (Fukuda Saki).

Just because Juri-chan is in a drama, doesn't mean the drama's always gonna be good... Her performance was really good, but the drama was frustratingly disappointing.

Like Tenshigure said, don't get us started... If you're really curious about why, read the Last Friends thread. Smile

Agreed. Her best work was the film Warau Mikaeru. She had better chemistry than Shaggy with the dogs.

Well, let's count here:

Films:
1. Warau Mikaeru

Shows:
1. Joudan Janai
2. Last Friends (this one is questionable, she did fantastic)

Aiming for a (deserved) award-winner next, Juri!!

No one has any recommendations for a drama along the storyline of Maou or Death Note?

Basically I am looking for dramas along the lines of Hero (I've already seen this so please don't recommend it).

Thanks!

One of the best lawyer dramas I've ever seen is Watashitachi no Kyokasho

Another good one about the politics of Japanese medicine that ends up in a malpractice trial is Shiroi Kyoto

Love/Hate relationships? Errr...kinda like the two who like eachother are at eachother's throats at first? That's practically every other romance JDrama out there, lol. Hmmm....well, I suppose Kekkon Dekinai Otoko could be recommended, as well as Last Christmas or even the more recent Yasuko to Kenji (though they aren't technically the main pair).

I don't know...kind of hard to recommend based off that short description, perhaps be a bit more specific?

I've seen Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and Last Christmas, but I'll check out Yasuko to Kenji later since it's still being aired in Japan. I guess Ryokiteki na Kanojo could be another one too.

Let me go more into depth for what I'm looking for. I've been watching a Korean drama and I couldn't really care less about the main characters getting together, but I'm more into seeing if/when the sassy deaf girl will get together with the radical musician guy. Something like a cute opposites attract, love/hate, comical type of relationship where you know they should get together and they sort of like each other, but don't/can't admit it. I just want the main characters and their love/hate relationship to be the focus. And I want it to be a Jdrama. And something I haven't seen before. Thanks and sorry if this is still being vague.

Hiya guys,
Just like in the past I'm in need of some recommendations.

As always, here is my favorite drama list:

Favorites:
-1 Liter of Tears
-My Boss My Hero
-Proposal Daisakusen
-Nobuta wo Produce
-Kurosagi
-Hanazakari no Kimitachi e
-Hana Yori Dango (1 and 2)
-Nodame Cantabile

Top one being most favorite, to least (keep in mind they still all my favorites, just preference if I had to rank them). As you can tell is a mixture between romance, high school, and cute actress dramas.

Note: Currently, I'm watching "Code Blue" which is alright so far but not a favorite or anything.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to hear your recommendations.

-TW
