anyway I just finished watching KIDS, it a very simple story but it conveys a very powerful meaning. His character is very tough....very different, not clean cut, shaved and trendy like he was in Nodame.....

I've watched KIDS last week. though it's not Tamaki-kun best movie, I like his character, Takeo. Takeo is a good man in his own way, he really cares to his friends, even to his father though he says that he hate him.

Tamaki's acting is good as usual. no doubt... he really is a great actor. we'll never get bored watching his movies/dramas cause he always choose different character to act.

glad that I am one of his big fans... Mr Green

Welcome to this thread, chenrry!
Tell us about your favorite Tamaki-kun. w00t!
@@@@@@
From Tamaki-kunfs interview in JUNON December 22:
=diet=
In the shooting of MW there was a scene where I dive into the lake with clothes. I thought I could do it easy because Ifd been keeping swimming. But I couldnft... I was too thin to float. hehe
=to be an actor=
When I was younger, I didnft think communication was important. But now I realize it is the most important for being an actor.
When Shikaotoko, I was asked to take Ayase Haruka-chan and Tabe Mikako-chan for shopping by them.LOL I gave them a ride to the supermarket, then had dinner.
=many things to learn=
I want to be 30 soon! I think my career as an actor restarts in my 30s.
I want to learn as many things as possible before I become 30. English is one of them.
Everytime I go abroad, I wish I could speak English...I want to talk more about work with foreign staffs. And if I can speak English, Ifll be able to get more chances for my job.
=Atsu Hime=
When I met Miyazaki Aoi-chan in Atsu Hime, she said gLong time no see! Youfre still wearing sandals lolh Her image of me is sandals. hehe
Most parts of the scenes I appear is with Eita-kun. Since I usually finish earlier than he, I play a trick before I leave. Stand the wipers or fold the side mirrors of his car in the parking lot... rofl Then next morning he sends me a scaring video by e-mail in revenge. Beaten

There are more interesting stories to tell you guys. Sorry can't introduce all.

waaa... Shiori-chan, thanks a lot for the stories. can't wait to hear the others.

he really is a nice guy ne? the picture of him accompanying Ayase-chan and Mikako-chan remind me of a scene in Nodame Cantabile when Chiaki accompany Son Rui for shopping: Chiaki carry a lot of shopping bags... wonder if the same thing happen... Mr Green

the 'sandals greeting' from Aoi-chan... (cmiiw) isn't he a little bit surprised (and took it modestly) knowing that Aoi-chan still remember his habit? I mean both of them are a famous actor, but still he was impressed by it (that someone remember his habit).

aaah... love him more and more and wish I could be his English teacher... Bonk

this was a bit of an old news but I just want to share with every1 got it from japinoy.com

Japanese heartthrob Hiroshi Tamaki, in Korea to promote his latest movie, appears a lot thinner than he does on screen. He played a gifted but arrogant and good-looking musician in the soap "Nodame Cantabile." In the new movie "Heavenly Forest" which opened last Wednesday, the 27-year-old actor plays naïve college student Makoto Segawa who stubbornly clings to his first love. The wide-eyed Tamaki ranges between the bizarre and innocent. Wearing a black suit and crackling with energy, he greeted this interviewer with a loud "hello" in Korean.

- You're a bit tough in this film.

"I played a freshman seven years younger than my actual age. So I intentionally tried to look a bit naïve and practiced talking in higher pitch."

- The movie felt like a summer version of the "Love Letter." It was like a watercolor. Which scene do you remember best?

"I thought the scenes in the forest were very beautiful and full of life. They were indeed quite beautiful when I watched them afterwards. What I remember the most is the kiss. It was the focal point of the story and a complete turning point at the same time."

- Innocent characters fit you nicely but when people think about you, they think of the comic scenes from "Nodame."

"Comedy is fun. People are all in good mood at work, too. When I was shooting 'Nodame' I really wanted to stretch myself and be really comic. But I held myself back because it would have overwhelmed the character of Chiaki. I love making funny faces in front of the mirror. It's quite amusing. You should try it sometime, too."

- Of all the characters you've played, which one was the most like you?

"Let's see... I don't think there were any. Whenever I'm given a role, I think about the character and turn myself into that person. I'm no genius like Chiaki or a dense and insensitive boy like Makoto. But I do think I'm a bit of a sadist like Chiaki (laughs). I'm indefinable. From time to time when I'm acting, I'm quite surprised at finding a part of myself that I didn't even know before."

- Are there any Korean movies you like?

"I was very impressed by 'Old Boy'. I felt a bit strange when I saw that. It was originally a Japanese story but I was very happy that Korea turned it into a movie. It was very well done, and I felt a bit envious. When I was watching the film, I wanted to be part of it. If there's another movie like 'Old Boy,' call me anytime. I want to participate."

Hiroshi made his debut as an extra in a TV soap when he was 18, but was unheard of for another five years. While trying to get his break in the movies, he worked as everything from a dishwasher to a kitchen boy to make a living.

- There must have been a time when you wanted to give up.

"I didn't want to be a loser. I thought if I broke down now, I'd never be able to stand up again. In those days I was penniless and hungry. I think that's why I'm a bit obsessed with food now. And I like girls who have a good appetite."

- You're quite popular in both Japan and Korea. What do you find attractive about yourself?

"Hmm... I don't know. In Japan people like me because I'm like a regular boy next door. In Korea, people say my eyes are pretty. Some people in Japan say I seem really kind but that's not acting (laughs). I didn't know there were so many people who knew me in Korea. I was very surprised."

- What kind of characters would you like to play in the future?

"Until now it's been an endless process of creating and destroying the characters I've been given. So after each work, I feel empty and exhausted. But I come back to life again with a new character. I'm going to shoot a new movie and right now am working on a special version of 'Nodame.' I want to try a criminal or a villain too. That should be fun. I want to challenge myself."

Tamaki said he likes clothes and would have been a fashion designer had he not become an actor. When the large skull ring on his hand was pointed out, he explained, "Oh, this. My stylist really likes it so I have to wear it. But it's not supposed to be good to carry a skull on you..."

shiori can I ask u about something or any1 in here for this matter,
when a TV station in japan decides to air or film a drama, do they filmed a few episodes, air it and film the rest of the drama while airing it or do they actually complete the filming it before the air it?

I know the Korean they film and air it concurrently.

this is inline with his other interview: "I'm still only 28 now, and as my experience in music and acting increases, I'll probably be touched by a lot of different things. As I go into my 30's, I want to expand my abilities as an actor playing different types of roles and I don't want to commit myself to a genre or style of music either. I want to create an image, destroy it, and then begin working on the next challenge."

just knowing this one. can't imagine Tamaki Hiroshi as a fashion designer... Mr Green

Thank you, tipsy. It's very interesting. I didn't know Tamaki-kun wanted to be a fashion designer. I remember T-shirts he designed were being dispensed for the donation to keep nature while Midnight Eagle was released at movie theaters. His friend who is a fashion designer helped him.

I know the Korean they film and air it concurrently.

In most cases, they start to air after filming a few episodes and film the rest while airing them. So sometimes it happens that they shorten or extend the drama or even change the supposed storyline as to the rating.
But there are some exceptions. Kusanagi Tsuyoshi's Ryoukiteki na Kanojo was aired after all the episodes were filmed because of his schedule.

PS I made a very simple mistake in my previous post. JUNON December 22September 22 Sweat

this is also a bit old news but I just want everybody read

Oricon interviews Tamaki Hiroshi for 'Bridge'

Oricon: This is your first album in a little more than three years. What approach did you want to take this time?

Hiroshi: Even though, in my current situation, it's difficult for me to concentrate solely on music, I wanted to create an album that could link me to the people that listen to my music. In other words, when people listen, I think they can know me as not an actor but as someone they know on a more personal level.

Oricon: So you wanted to include a lot of strong messages this time?

Hiroshi: Yeah, I'm not very good with love songs and they're embarrassing for me. (laugh) So more than that, I wanted to tell people what's been on my mind lately and so, yeah, there are quite a few songs with messages.

Oricon: What songs particularly left you with a song impression?

Hiroshi: "With" and "Beautiful Day." I sang both of these songs at live shows and they were great memories for me. But since these songs were made specifically to be played live, we had to change the arrangements for recording to keep that feeling.

Oricon: In your lyrics to "With," the words really seem to set the scene well. How did you go about that?

Hiroshi: I wanted to express the feeling of "Life can't be lived alone. We all need a helping hand." I really like it when "real life" scenes are set up well, whether it is in a movie or in music. And I did that consciously. Other than that though, when I heard the song for the first time, the theme sprang out at me and I tried to take that and put it into words.

Oricon: Your voice is definitely not excessive by any means and sounds really natural I think but, do you think that it is a result of the way you write your lyrics?

Hiroshi: Well, if you suck at something, it's ok that you suck at it is all. (laugh) More than that though, I think that expressing life through words is important. I want to convey my feelings to other people through my lyrics so I concentrate to put myself in the lyrics and imagine what those feelings are when I sing for the recording. I think I picked this up from my experience as an actor.

Oricon: How do you switch back and forth between actor and singer?

Hiroshi: They are two totally different worlds and even though I take a while to get in the right frame of mind when I switch roles, after a while I somehow seem to "get the engine started." But there are times when I'm recording and somewhere in my head I think, "I've got to remember my line..."

Oricon: And the other way around?

Hiroshi: The other way around really isn't a problem. If it's a question of which is easier to switch to, acting is definitely the easier of the two. (laugh)

Oricon: Which do you consider to be "home" and which would be "away" for you?

Hiroshi: Even though I was "made" as an actor, I'd like to be known more as a musician. There is a part of me that wants other people to understand me and, in that sense, acting is "away" I guess. But, since I have both, I'm trying to balance the two.

Oricon: So when both Hiroshi Tamakis are become complete...

Hiroshi: I'm still only 28 now, and as my experience in music and acting increases, I'll probably be touched by a lot of different things. As I go into my 30's, I want to expand my abilities as an actor playing different types of roles and I don't want to commit myself to a genre or style of music either. I want to create an image, destroy it, and then begin working on the next challenge. As posted in Tokyograph

hey is he filming 2 of the movies at the same time here is the news two movies

which one is the correct news? I am confused

"MW," a manga by famed artist Osamu Tezuka, is being turned into a live-action film, starring actor Hiroshi Tamaki. Taking the director's seat is Hitoshi Iwamoto, known for several popular television dramas.

The comic originally ran in Shogakukan's Big Comic from 1976 to 1978. The story revolves around MW, a poisonous gas developed as a chemical weapon by foreign military forces. After an accidental leak on an isolated island, the military covers up the incident by exterminating all of the island's inhabitants. One survivor named Yuuki (Tamaki) grows up as an elite bank employee, but in secret, he is a killer taking revenge on those responsible for the incident. His ultimate goal is to unleash MW across the whole world.

Takayuki Yamada co-stars as Yuuki's friend and accomplice, a priest named Yutaro Garai.

Filming started on April 20, and some scenes are currently being shot in Thailand. The movie will open in theaters in 2009.

Hiroshi Tamaki stars in naval epic "Manatsu no Orion"
Mon, July 14, 2008 (1:59am EDT)
Actor Hiroshi Tamaki is taking the lead in an upcoming suspense film titled "Manatsu no Orion," directed by Tetsuo Shinohara. Based on the novel "Raigeki Shindo Juukyuu-ten-go" by Tsukasa Ikegami, the movie is set near Okinawa during World War II. While the main focus is a naval battle between a Japanese submarine and an American destroyer, the film also portrays the personal relationships among those involved.

Tamaki plays the warm-hearted captain of the submarine.@His close friend and colleague is being played by CHEMISTRY's Yoshikuni Dochin, who is making his acting debut with this role.

Toho and TV Asahi are involved in production. Filming started on July 1, and next month some scenes will be shot in the U.S. using a preserved WWII-era destroyer. Theatrical release is scheduled for 2009.

I have a book with the picture, but I can't upload it, sorry Sweat

I'll introduce you another part of the interview in JUNON:
=view of love=
I think I should experience a steady and deeper romance. I donft need youth any more.LOL I was too straightforward for love when I was younger. Ifd been going my own way thinking love was all about my life. But love of that kind is enough since it makes me exhausted.LOL hehe

I want to be general as a man...have a wife, children. If I get married, I can have another goal. Ifve been saying that I want to have a family like Sazae-san, where everyone lives together happily, and I can really feel gIfm home!h But I donft want my wife to stay home just waiting for me.
