It's pretty good... A big time tearjerker, but it not manipulative like that other tearjerker that I despise...

Silly drama... It was sorta cute at the beginning, but it wore out its welcome.

How about "Sexy Voice and Robo"? http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1159.htm Don't go by that stupid title, it's really good. Ohgo is a very talented young actress and Matsuyama does the best portrayal of an otaku ever. Applaud

I heard that that was a good one. I've been meaning to watch it one of these years, but maybe soon since you recommended it. Smile

The subs for this series has just been finished. I think this is one of those classic, must-see series for pretty much everyone. Thumbsup

I gotta watch this too. Someone recommended it to me recently too. I just wish there were softsubs because I'm not a fan of hardsubs since they run off the screen when I convert them to DVD. Sad

I've been meaning to watch this too! And Around 40. And SCANDAL. Ack, one of these days... Maybe I should watch Muri na Ren'ai since both you and beemie recommended it to me. Big Grin Thanks everyone!! ^_^

Another reason for me to watch it is because I love Suzuki Sawa in the Aibou series and Otoko no Kosodate. Big Grin

Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to doramas, and I thought that since the people here seem so knowledeable about good shows to watch I'd try asking for recommendations! There are so many out there, and I can't decide what I should watch next!

The ones that I've seen and loved so far are: Orange Days, Hana Yori Dango Seasons 1 and 2 (these 3 have been my favorites so far), Long Vacation, and Love Generation. I've also seen Kimi wa Petto and Nodame Cantabile but didn't really care for them as much.

As you can probably tell, I love romance dramas <3 Though I don't like ones that end sadly with people dying, like I know some more popular ones do. I don't mind if the drama is happy and sweet or if it gets sad and makes me cry at points, just as long as it ends well. So if anyone has anything they might recommend, please let me know! Thank you!

First one off the bat that I think you'd be into would be Proposal Daisakusen, it'll give you that range you're looking for in romance/comedy/sadness that I personally liked (one of the few shows I could pop on in the background while doing other things).

Second, although late, Last Christmas is also a good romantic drama that (to me) has one of the better Western soundtracks (straight outta the 80s), but still has a likable front AND supporting cast.

Last, Densha Otoko is a series that can really be a heartwarming show (if you can look past the fact that the main character is SUPPOSED to be pathetic, some people seem to forget that) that involves an Otaku trying to win the heart of a girl he 'rescues' on the train, asking friends on the 2Chan-equivalent online message boards for advice. It's truly the forum members various personalities that make the show fantastic.

Hope this helps!

Hey guys, i'm back and requesting more recommendations!

So far i've watched:
Gachi Baka
Nodame Cantabile(loved it, so funny!)
My Boss My Hero(yet again, great)
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e(too much drama, too little comedy, but it had its fun moments)
Stand Up!!(good, i liked it, but it wasn't all that fun)
Gokusen 1-3(first was good, the last 2...not very much)
GTO

with that list, i am sure someone could recommend something like it, i like the whole slap-stick comedy of Nodame Cantabile, and it's got school stuff, comedy+school=win

Most of all i like random comedy dramas, so..Anyone?! Thanks!

Man, I'm on a recommendation roll, lol:

First, Yasuko to Kenji ranks up there in craziness + slapstick comedy that you may be looking for. It was my first exposure to Masahiro Matsuoka, but MAN can that guy contort his face into some of the funniest looks!

Second, Papa to Musume no Nanokakkan is also a great show that actually stars Aragaki Yui, who played Hikari in MBMH. Short, not a classic by any means, but lighthearted and very funny.

Last, doesn't look like you've seen Nobuta wo Produce, so you could always give that one a shot. Not slapstick really, but still a fun watch nevertheless.

Hope This Helps! (again! hehe)

Hello fellow JDorama members!

I would just like a few recommendations on what Jdramas to watch.

I enjoy watching crime/mystery/suspense dramas that revolves around an amazingly skillful/smart protagonist or antagonist. The drama can be "dark", but preferably not too serious. It would be perfect if it has few comical moments here and there in each episodes. I have watched Liar Game, Death Note and Galileo, and am currently watching Bloody Monday. I gotta say, they match my taste perfectly. =)

Unfortunately there isnt a search engine on the internet that I can use to find this genre of Jdrama. So I'd have to ask for all of you guys' help!

Thanks!

I just finished Koori no Sekai http://jdorama.com/drama_227.htm which was real good up unitl the final episode.
Something better would be Sleeping Forest http://jdorama.com/drama.278.htm one of Kimura's better efforts IMHO.
But the #1 cop drama of all time is Odoru Daisasoussen or "Bayside Shakedown" http://jdorama.com/drama.290.htm not only a great drama, but it spawned several movies as well. Highly recommended.
