Not particularly... I'd rather see her silly/goofy/adorable... Like in Seikei Bijin...
Then Koori no Hana may well not be for you, I think she smiles about two times during the whole show. There are however plenty of close ups of her silently emoting whilst someone else gives some eternally long speech. And not a thong in sight.

Hey, if Dori's in a thong flingin' mood... do not discourage her.
No, no, i'm all for people embracing their obsessions

As to dramas...
Boy, I just watched episode 3 of Home Darma and I think this is turning out to be one of the great ones.
It's not a comedy, romantic or otherwise. It's a sentimental journey. You can read the blurb about it.
The situation, the writing, the acting... everything's coming together beautifully in this one. And the episodes go by in the wink of an eye. Three episodes in and every time the closing theme starts to play I"m shocked to find that I've been watching for more than 40 minutes.
I get that with Kita no kuni kara. You're amazed the time has passed so quickly
*edit* I've found a download for that. Rack 'em up!

LOL.
No, it's fine... I sat through all of Nyokei Kazoku... Not that it was bad, but that just about everyone in that drama was conniving and had some kind of end game going...
Just keeps getting better. I may have to switch this to my lunchtime drama. I put in the disc last night and there was no way I could turn it off after just one episode. So I wound up staying up until 2:30am watching episode 5. It made getting up this morning more than a little painful.

Yup. Kita no Kuni Kara was the same thing. So was Yasashii Jikan.
On a very different note, my current lunchtime series is:
A highly stylized comedy with most of the humor coming from quick cuts, camera tricks, and digital effects. Kusanagi Tsuyoshi is giving an early version of his trademark Johnny-One-Note acting style. You knowc Casper milk-toastc but with a hidden talent. (If Ifd seen this show in 1997 when it was broadcast I probably wouldnft have been so tired of it. But as it isc)
Itfs okayc but so far I havenft been tempted to watch a second episode in one sitting. In fact, Ifve found myself checking the time on the DVD to find out how much longer etil the end. (Not the best of signs.)
Even having Kanno Miho in the show isnft saving it for me. Itfs the first time Ifve ever found myself thinking shefd been miscast in a series. She was just too young to carry the slack Kusanagi left at her feet. You can see the difference when Zaizen Naomi or Ito Shiro are in a scene with him. They were old pros when this was shot, and they knew that Kusanagi wasnft gonna help with any of the heavy lifting. So they just got down to business by themselves. Those scenes work. The ones with Miho, sadly, donft. _________________

Sounds like the drama has you staying home all day and night to watch it.
Football is over. My NBA team has all but folded. And I haven't watched, or cared about, a MLB game since the Millionaires & Billionaires decided to cancel the World Series.
It's Drama Watchin' season, Baby!
Truth to tell, the only thing that's keeping me from putting up the "Do Not Disturb" sign and watching the last 6 episodes tonight, is knowing how annoyed I get with myself when I do that sort of thing. _________________

But if it's a good drama, you should get some satisfaction from that, huh?

I like to savor the good stuff. There's always another Gokusen IX or Fighting Girl lurking on the To Watch spindle. But the really good ones are kind of rare. So I like to make them last for as long as I can.
That said... I only watched one episode last night. Hooray for self control!
But then I brought the discs into work with me today and watched ep 7 while I ate my lunch. Dang. that was not the plan.
Boy, I looked up Okada Yoshikazu , the writer of Home Drama, and it seems that he's spent a lot of years churning out a long list of my favorite dramas. He wrote Churasan, Muri na Renai, Ai no Uta, Koibumi, Yume no California, Koi Seyo Otome, Antique, Iguana no Musume and Mada Koi wa Hajimaranai... just to name a few.
I'm gonna have to start poking around for his other titles. _________________

Really. That is an amazing list.
A few of my favs too!
NEver enough time in the day to do everything I'd like to do/watch/learn.... _________________
I almost stopped watching it during the first few minutes. It had the feel of another manga trying to be a drama with nutty camera angles and body positions.... but then just as suddenly it became a watchable drama.
In fact I like it a lot. Now and then they get carried away with the manga stuff for a few frames... but I can ignore that. It has a nice warm feeling to it and the acting is very good. The sets are imaginative and colorful. And it's a high quality rip... that alone is worth gold. I don't know most of the actors. I'm surprised Hirosue Ryoko only has a supporting role (so far). As yet she is not up to her usual high caliber. Conversely Tabe Mikako who is new to me, is charming and an excellent actress. Kind of cute too which goes a long ways in my book. lol.
Matsuoka Masahiro who I disliked intensely in the opening scenes, grew on me as the episode progressed. In fact he adds a lot to the success of this drama. I hope succeeding episodes will continue in the same interesting manner.
