oh, certainly only once... I've only seen Nodame more than once and I only saw it again to distance myself from the emotional reaction I had to it to ensure my expectations were justified. _________________

I've only seen Nodame more than once and I only saw it again to distance myself from the emotional reaction I had to it to ensure my expectations were justified.
I've recently finished this drama and can't say much else that hasn't already been said This one is definitely one of the best I've seen.
With that said, there was one part that seemed to irk me a bit and caused me a bit of apprehension while watching.

After having seen SekaChu and there being a mentioning of Sae's illness, I thought I was in for another super sad ride (I kept telling myself I was going to end up crying my eyes out) and was trying to look for hints of an impending death (grim, I know). Thankfully my worries were quelled by the middle of the drama since her illness was no longer mentioned. However after episode 8 with Sae's random bout of dizziness I was sure her demise was coming. With the last three episodes I was expecting it but the only thing that came of it was the fact that it only resulted in her loss of hearing further which was then fixed with surgery. I felt like this was unnecessary bit in order to for you to keep watching. In fact it reminded me of Last Friends in that an issue was created and easily resolved and not mentioned again. I hope I'm explaining myself well here. I could just be reading too much into it or have understood it all wrong.
Anyone else notice this at all?
Despite this red herring, I'll just say again that this drama will mostly likely be one of my favorites for years to come. The Sae/Kai relationship was one I was rooting for all along and was what most importantly kept me watching til the very end.

i'm currently rewatching this drama... It's really strange to realise how much I've changed myself, because I feel like I understand each character much better now. I also sympathize with Maho, whom I really disliked when I watched it for the first time ... haha somehow I'm just rewachting dramas I already know, lately.

I've watched this Drama for the first time now. Last night, I watched the last episode. And I have to say, that together with Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003, this is my favorite Drama so far!
I love the characters! All of them! But mostly, Sae and Kai... they're so awesome together! Why didn't this Drama ever get a Special? :'(
