Yup.
Baseball (and Cricket, I guess) are the only sports where the defense has the ball... |
Actually, when a player is going to bowl with the ball in cricket, they say he is entering the attack. But with flat pitches these days, it's true that he is really trying to defend or contain most of the time.

True.
Talking about cricket: Australia beats South Africa in the 2nd Test to go up 2-0 in the series and retain the world #1 ranking |
Good win for the inexperienced team. The new guys really stood up. But I feel South Africa got ahead of themselves and were over-confident. Just because they won once in Australia, they were talking about world domination for the next ten years. Not that easy.

Yeah, I think they really came down to earth there Just because Australia had one bad home series, it doesn't make them easybeats yet.

Yup! I just found the word while looking for her.
I found a YT vid. It's 1.05 seconds, or something. Her head is huge (last few seconds of vid). I feel really bad for her, but people really need to know their limits.

They featured this Korean woman's story on TBS just now. She worked at a night club here in Japan and was obsessed with her looks. She had a rather prominent jawline so she asked the madame of the club for help. The madame recommended her to some shady "beautician" who injected her face with silicon. At first her face was fuller but had become fat with increased injections. At this point she was fired and returned home to Korea. Still obsessed, she continued with the silicon and then with cooking oil. This is when her face really turned for the worse. She had an operation but her face still looks hideous. They had some other beauty horror stories on the show but I quit watching. I didn't want to lose my appetite before dinner.

I would lose mine.
There was a woman in the STates who had plastic surgery to make her look like a cat. Bizarre. _________________

Horrifying.
I have a friend from High School who was an exotic beauty and had some not tons but some work done so she could look more like a Barbie. Now she does.
It would be really sad except once she had done what she did she was actually happy. I can't be judgmental about that. _________________

I try not to be judgmental when it comes to people doing plastic surgery and what not, but when you're stupid enough to inject your own face with cooking oil?!
I hope this korean lady is getting help. _________________

Is that why they call it "Plastic" surgery?

I'm already on job hunt again - got home at 3:30, had resume, references, cover letter updated, unemployment benefits applied for, along with 8 resumes out by 6:30.
All said and done, it's probably a good thing: I was dreading going every day for boredom. But really.. now is not the time to be looking for work |
Awww that sucks. At least you're free to pursue a more appealing option. _________________
