Eve
Jeez-oh I loved Home Drama. Really, one of the very best shows I've seen.
At lunch today I started watching Bloody Monday.
Usually the idea of watching the "boy genius computer hacker" -- you know -- hack a computer to save the world is a sure formula for boredom for me.
But when the screen isn't flooded with meaningless code, or CGI birds flying through a CGI representation of the internet... Kichise Michiko is on screen. And when Michiko isn't on screen, Ashina Sei is. And when Michiko and Sei aren't there... Katase Nana is. So I figure to be a pretty happy boy for the next few days. _________________ Manga is to Literature

I must say the premise is enough to make anyone feel their life isnt too bad but the mood is actually uplifting.
Thanx, AD. Im really liking it! |
Glad you're enjoying it, Eve!

They're showing this on Sunday nights here w/english subs. Started last Sunday but I gave it pass because of the reason you mentioned and because I saw Miura Haruma in 14 sai no Haha and he makes Takky look like the second coming of Olivier. Maybe I'll pick it up with episode 2 this week. Up thru epi 5 of Asunaro Hakusho big thumbs up so far.

I caught a bit of that show.... Yet another girly-boy drama.
Makes me appreciate War Games even that much more.

I am indeed, AD!
Just finished another episode.
This one wont last long.
Dohmoto Tsuyoshi is quite charming in this. Thought he was quite good in both To Heart and Moto Kare, though I didnt think much of Moto Kare itself. He has some range. _________________

The show isn't perfect- not crazy about the directing and the frequent reuse of the same flashbacks over and over, | I don't like the way the 1st 2 episodes were directed either; I think the director in question likes to use a heavy-handed approach (e.g. like the episodes he's responsible for in Triangle). With different directors at the helm, ep. 3 & 4 were much better not only in this aspect, but pacing/editing as well. Even the new flashbacks were shot in a less obtrusive style. Unfortunately, since the former is the chief director, he will most likely be in charge for the next and final 2 episodes.

I'm watching like eight different shows right now, mostly newer ones.
Atashinchi no Danshi ~ Strange and usually bad, but watching anyways because it's mildly entertaining
Hancho ~ The main actor kinda bothers me, I don't know. Same when he was in Triangle
Love Game ~ It kinda reminds me of a rip-off of Liar Game.
Majo Saiban ~ Interested to see where this goes
The Quiz Show ~ I'm hoping the episodes aren't exactly the same all the time..
Shiori Haru ~ Waiting for ep. 3 and ready to pull out the tissues
Smile ~ I like it so far, I have a feeling it'll get really deep and frustrating
Sunadokei ~ Watching it slowly because it's too depressing. :[

I may be a little harsh on Miura. In 14 Sai no Haha he's in there with Mirai Shida and Misako Tanaka. He might have just looked a lot worse in comparison. (But he was pretty bad.)

Miura? I couldn't figure out who you guys were talking about, so I looked him up. Funny... he made no impression on me during 14 Sai no Haha.
And he's hardly made an impression on me in Bloody Monday. But then... I've only watched 3 episodes.
For me, so far, it's all about Kichise Michiko doing her femme fatal thing. And Ashina Sei and Katase Nana being Ashina Sei and Katase Nana.
And if they weren't enough, there's this very pretty girl named Mina Fujii. Pretty enough to make me look her up... and it turns out she's from San Diego. Cool. A chance to root for the home team.
What was I talking about... Oh yeah! Miura. Are we sure he's in this? _________________ Manga is to Literature

Home team?
Did San Diego move up north without my knowing?

Finally, just finished watching Kekko Dekinai Otoko. thanks alot bmwracer for recomending this drama to me.
i really liked it. and Abe Hiroshi goes into my list of most favourite actors (thank god i did not laminate that list ). will try to watch more of his dramas for sure. his character was so funny and interesting and so real. not sure if is good or bad but he does remind me of someone i know very well. (that would be me )
will start watching Mopgirl now. i am sure i have said it before but since Love shuffle and Triangle (actually it might be before that), i have developed a strange obsession with Tanihara shosuke (thank godness for unlaminated list again ). i need to see some more of his dramas.
btw, do we have a thread about him here at all? if not, i can start one.
is it only me or some else sees it too. he looks like a more grown up and taller version of ohno (arashi leader)? _________________

Do a search.
I think he's an underrated actor... He had a small role in Seikei Bijin and was very good in Koi ni Ochitara, with (currently humiliated) SMAP guy, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi.
