To be honest, that was the first real J-Dorama I have seen. I have the feeling, that nothing will be able to match this one.
It's always a sad feeling, when you have to say "goodbye" to the charakters, you learned to like. Ja, shikata ga nai... I hope to find another good one soon.

Hi! I'm so addicted to Long Vacation right now even though I've watched it for 4 times. It is my first jdorama and the reason why I got hooked with Takuya Kimura... anyways... I saw this website that said that it has 1 SPECIAL, so I would think there's a continuation after the wedding?

Website:
http://www.nt2099.com/LV/lv2.html

Content:
Long Vacation perhaps ranks as one of the best modern doramas in Japan of all time. Long Vacation featured an all-star cast and consisted of 11 episodes, 1 special, 5 official soundtracks, many other LV albums and singles, a few books and caused an unusual trend/fad in Japan. The following are words and images back in April 1996 when Long Vacation first aired. If you want to add something on this homepage, feel free to ask and I'll put your words or images on this homepage.

Welcome to JDorama. I'm not sure if the script is available to the general public. However Amazon Japan has the novelized script in stock.

Re: The Long Vacation SP

I haven't seen it, but from what I've been told it's not really a continuation. It's more a clip show and a rehash of scenes from the series.

I restarted watching doramas wth Suppli being on a roll to watch older woman younger man stuff. I had laid off doramas coz many like Nana, Gokusen etc I found poorly made. Then I loved Suppli and looked around for more doramas of the same nature. I watched Long Vacation after I had finshed wth many famous more close to date series so with the first epsiode I was like, this wont be good enough and I have seen Anego, Suppli and Majou no Joken- all the ones that could impress me and I cant be impressed any further. Bang Head I had given up Shake Head and just went with the dorama then began to notice, hey there isnt any cliches, nor melodramatic shying and manga type situations, this was pure, very realistic and connectable series- and I had no idea who SMAP was or who Kimura Takuya was, I was just thinking , what a dented early version of bishie - until I noticed that hey, this guy acts awesome, so professional that I could swear he studied through Drama school...by the end of the series, I was like, Damn! I am going to be so depressed after this series ended, all the so called new and better series actually pale in comparison to this dorama, ESPECIALLY since the younger Kimura acted so well compared to many "younger male lover" actors so adored by the public- Yamapi, Matsu's brother, Kamishina Jin etc though Kamenishi Kazuya and Hideaki somehow pulled it off, but Kimura Takuya CAN ACT!

I know this is the best JDrama I have seen especially in this combination.. AND the only one with the sweetest ending- their 22 kisses and wedding ! Dancing Applaud Victory! Peace!

I really liked this drama,, I rarely watch old dramas
but this one caught my attention,, it was straight forward, the dialogue
between the charaters are witty and over what a good romantic drama should be

Hi, if anyone know where to get the RAW version of the drama, I'd really appreciate it! I found an ISO version on torrent, but it's so big - 17 GB! I'm looking for the .avi file that has no subtitle on them. Thanks in advance guys!

D-Addicts only has the English hardsubs by JTV and recently released French hardsubs by Dream of Asia (and a couple eps subbed in Spanish).

@HHND - The only raw version I have ever found on the net is the ISO files you mentioned. You don't have to download the whole thing at once... you could always d/l one disc at a time (I'm pretty sure I remember them being ripped to be just ovr 4GB each). It's worth it.
