No mayo, that's when they go for the richer of the two i've noticed... at least offhandedly. I would've went with the minestrone as well. though that clam looked awesome.

That never stopped me. Beaten

There are English-subbed ones, y'know... That's what we've been getting on our digital Japanese station here... And I think those episodes are being posted up on D-Addicts, if you're interested. Victory! Peace!

It's OK, but I'i'd rather watch my family watch them then to watch the actual show.

actually i'd prefer the ones not subbed. that way if my kids watch it, there is no crutch of the subs to depend on. Once i get home, i'll look for the thread for the dotch ryori show. (can you believe it, She's 12 this yr!!!)

Last night's menu: Roast Beef (though it looked more like Prime Rib) vs. Roast Chicken.

And the winner?

no way, it makes perfect sense once you break down flavor profiles.

a roast chicken has a wonderful flavor and aroma throughout the entire chicken, assuming it was done properly, for both dark and white meat. very little sauce is needed and the crunch of the skin is always a plus.

roast beef on the other hand, as well as prime rib, the outer 1/3 is where most of the flavor is. the center is fairly flavorless whenever i've eaten either. That's where the yorkshire pudding and gravy really shine. whenever i go to Lawry's, i get a lawry cut and by the time i reach the center, my pudding is done and the corn is eaten. So i tend to take that home and fry it w/ butter the next day.

So on the whole. A roast chicken has more inherent flavor than a roast beef. just meat by itself, the chicken would win hands down.

and this is coming from a steak lover. Beaten

Yukke Bibimba wins, 5-2.

The two oldest guys go hungry.

I think two of the guys are pitchers: Shigetoshi Hasegawa and an ex-pitcher for the Dodgers, whose name I can't remember at the moment. Sweat

EDIT: Kazuhisa Ishii.

Depends on what you mean by still running.

The show is still being broadcast here (digital 18.2), but they're reruns from years earlier... I think the show was canceled a year or two ago in Japan.
