Ahhh, so you're TaroTard! Mr Green Yeah, I last saw you at the "What is your favorite Kimura Takuya drama series?" thread over at D-A, lolz. hehe The CAPITAL SCANDAL thread at Soompi is very much alive and kicking--lotsa screen caps and stills and BTS shots (plus some really funny Photoshopped pics, lol) care of the Kang Ji-hwan x Han Ji-min shippers. Lovey Eyes I'm harboring NO illusions about KJH and HJM as a real-life couple (besides, the only shipping I wholeheartedly support is the KimuraxMatsu shipping, heh heh heh), but the photos ARE extremely cute. Rolly

LOL, so your friend likes Oguri Shun, ehh? Naughty Yeah, I think in real life I'd choose him over MatsuJun--like, in a heartbeat. Oguri Shun isn't classically handsome, but he gives off that cool vibe, ya know? Whereas MatsuJun... hmmm... very... distinctive look, yes? Naughty As my best friend put it, "Only MatsuJun looks like MatsuJun," lol. Funny, the first time I saw him I said, "That guy has NO chin!" And then I looked at Oguri Shun and said, "Now THAT guy has enough chin to feed the world! Share some of it with Domyouji, Rui!" Hahahaha mwahaha

HAHA I actually like that pairing in the show, I never usually think of couples in real life, the only time I've really done that is with Kim Beum and Kim Eun from BBF they'd be so cute together ^0^ lol

Ah yes the Kimutaku drama thread, you know I tried to go and leave another message the other day but daddicts forum was playing up for me Sad shall have to try again later!

TBH when I first saw HYD for a while I was thinking why wouldn't she chose Rui O.O but I think that's how it is in the manga too... Rui is the good looking one XDDD you kinda get won over by Doumyouji he has a unique personality he's a bit of a brute but on the inside he's actally really sweet and naive.

Anyway I shall swan over to soompi XD

Anyone watching 'Take Care of the Young Lady' ? I watched episode 3 last night, ZOMG it's so hilarious I love it so much <3 though I am not getting everyone's attraction to Tae Yoon O.o Dong Chan is much better, so I'm glad it will prolly be him and HN together =D (also TY is dull ʁ)

Also watching Tamna Island as it is released... the blonde haired guys acting amuses me ^^;;;; it's usually when he's talking English it seems awkward... it's probably because he's a french dude acting as an English dude lolz

My main focus will probably always be Japanese shows. But with the rash of Manga inspired Summer series, aimed at teen aged girls (which is to say... not me) flooding the Japanese airwaves... I've been watching a lot of Korean shows lately.

Shows like:

"Bad Family" and "Sweet Spy", "Gourmet" and "Time Between Dog and Wolf". Hey, if Nam Sang Mi is in it, I'm watching.

"That Fool" was wonderful. "Bodyguard" was terrific. "Korean Secret Agency" was worth watching. "Capitol Scandal" was a trip.

Right now I'm half way through both "Snow White" and "The Sons of Sol Pharmacy"

And my favorite show, even though I don't have a crush on either of the leading ladies, was "Evasive Inquiry Agency"

Those who know those titles will understand that I have absolutely no use for sappy love stories, or sad, tear jerking melodramas.

But considering Korean Drama's reputation... who would have thought they were capable of putting out so many terrific action stories, and comedies?

And boy do they spend money on their new series. They almost all look like feature films. And as the Japanese move into their studios, filming more and more shows on the cheap. The Korean companies are opening things up and doing more filming on location.

Two things I've learned over the last couple of months of watching K-Drama. 1) Right now, Korean TV and movies do the best fight scenes I've ever seen. Not martial arts extravaganzas. Fight scenes. In gangster stories, cop stories, war stories. I mean... they're amazing!

And 2) Korean actresses have great legs.

Oh, and about the complaint that there's too much filler in Korean shows. You know, the long musical interludes while the stars just stand there posing while the music plays... Or the constant flash backs to scenes that just happened five minutes ago.

Yeah, those complaints seem to be valid. But the thing is... when it's on tape or disc, it's pretty easy to just hit the fast forward button. Each episode is an hour long, if not and hour and five minutes long. So if you FF through the songs, and the "fart" acting, it comes out to about the same length as a Japanese show.

I've only seen portions of several Kdramas and of course Prince's First Love completely about 5 times now. Give me a romantic comedy, tropical paradise scenery, and the most gorgeous young leading lady ever - Sung Yu Ri and I'm in K heaven. Bow

She's was also a member of the kpop group Fin k.l. and having watched her endlessly in the Prince drama, I bought their tour DVD. It too is very good with another gorgeous member in the group to help me out during my workouts on the eliptical machine. Puppy Dog Eyes

Any kdramas that fit this bill, let me know please. No interest in any heavy depressing, police or fight type dramas.

Ok finally found time to search on the internet. Here's my recommendation for romantic comedies:

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Couple_of_Fantasy

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/My_Lovely_Sam-Soon

Check these out. I watched these cos it was shown on free-to -air tv. I would NEVER go out on a limb for such stuff. hehe Personal preference, i guess. Sweat

But i really enjoyed these two VERY MUCH!!! Made me LOL lots of times. And also perhaps both are only 16 episodes long. I certainly have no patience for long drawn out dramas. Victory! Peace!

Thanks Nadrika... will check them out.

Unlike you, since I am an asadora professional now, I like long dramas. You get to feel like one of the family. Dancing

Guess that's why I still watch, the only US drama I watch, Y&R, for about 15 years now. They are my American family...

^OMG! I absolutely ADORED Couple or Trouble. What a great show! The female lead completely won me over. And apparently she's VERY popular in Korea.

Right now I'm watching Prince's First Love (Ralph's recommendation) and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I've seen about 5 Korean dramas in a row now and I've enjoyed all of them.

Eve

I have "All In" somewhere around here. Miss Song (something) is one of the stars, and since I enjoyed her work in "Full House" and "Worlds within Worlds" I started downloading as much of her stuff as I could. But I don't know when I'll get around to watching it.

Re: Sons of Sol Pharmacy (aka My Too Perfect Sons) I have 40 of the 50 episodes. I'll let you know when the rest become available.

Ralph

You might check out Sons of Sol Pharmacy as well. It's a 50 episode show. Each episode is an hour long. It's the story of a modern day, middle class family with four grown, but as yet unmarried adult sons. (Oh the horror, the shame.)

The stories all tend to intertwine, but each son has his own story line, the parents have their own, some of the neighbors get their own.

The nice thing is... if you don't care for one or more of the characters, or story lines, just zip ahead a bit and you're following someone else.

I've already watched 34 of the episodes and I'm really looking forward to finding out what happens next.

It's light family fare, with a few sad moments thrown in just to keep the aunties happy.
