She's BORING LOOKING too..It was a total miscast..Yutaka should've got a better lead actress.. Sweat

Oyaji is one of my favourite dramas ever. I found the jokes funny and the sentimental moments touching. The casting was great. I think the show depends on whether the father grows on you, he certainly did on me.

My point is for people to give oyaji a try.

Otousan is a really boring show, the only highlight being Hirosue Ryoko's acting.

I agree with the above completely. Oyaji was a great show with fine characters. Otousan was just terrible. They may be somewhat similar, though I think a lot of that has to do with the casting; but if they are similar, then Oyaji is an example of how that sort of show should have been done, and Otousan is an example of what should be avoided. I saw Food Fight recently. I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone.

SOS isnt that bad. It is kind of dragy and yes it reminds me of a us soap. But other then that i liked it was one of the first japanese dramas that i ever watched. 1) Unmarried Family- it was very good i just didnt like the ending 2) I want to be in love (3times) this one is kind of pointless 3)Koi wo nan nen sundemasu ka? Are you in love? or No lover- boring that is my top 3 worst dramas and i am sorry that i put unmarried family in there i just wanted to let people know that the ending is realy stupid

i've been reading through this whole thread.. and i realised i've never contributed here before.. strange because i thought i've put down ningen shikkaku a few times.. =p okay IMO, horrible dramas are stuff like 1. ningen shikkaku - it is really horrible, the more i watched it, the more i cringed.. it's a kinki kids drama set in a school.. but it's sick.. 2.jinbe - no one falls in love with their stepfather.. NO ONE.. especially not in a drama.. and NOT tamura masakazu.. :shudders: the only character i liked disappeared after 3 episodes.. sack that scriptwriter..! 3. p.s. genki desu, shunpei this time they should sack the person who chose the cast.. koichi-kun doesn't look good with seto asaka at all.. in fact, i'm quite lucky.. there are other dramas which i didn't really enjoy for a few episodes.. but they managed to redeem themselves..

I actually enjoyed P.S. Geki Desu, Shunpei. Both Seto Asaka and Koichi did a good job. I used to think Koichi is ugly and untalented, but this show changed my view on it and I think Seto Asaka is very charismatic and has a boyish girl charm, Smile

I do agree with the comments on Oyaji though, I couldn't even finish episode 1. "Pride" was also like that.

I think the problem with JDorama is that most of them are TOO much alike in formula and plot (one drama works out well, imitators follow suit). I really want to see more varieties.

I liked Love Complex because it was VERY different from the regular dramas and surprisingly deep for a drama. Too bad it was shown to the wrong audience - regular Japanese housewives and marketed the wrong way. Did you know the U.S. book "JDorama Dictionary" described it as a dating show based on a Dating Sim videogame with 2 guy and 7 girls? Did the guy ever watch the show??? Never trust foreign experts on Japanese drama.

Say Hello to Black Jack..i was watching it wif my frd. we finished the first episode on the first day, and on the second day we couldnt even stand it for 10 minutes and switched to Stand UP!!

I agree completely about SOS -- waste of the cast.

Cheap Love was dragged out and not one of the more exciting dramas.

I would add Le Parfum De La Jaolusie (Shitto no Kaori).

Started with promise but just dragged on the early conflicts.

Fighting Girl went somewhere at least but does wear thin.
