the only manga i know of, that i can buy, is in shonen jump, but i don't wanna waste money on yu-gi-oh, too....

the manga is so funny, especially with the comments put in by Yoko Kamio. She keeps talking about Kimutaku and how she was so nervous when she first met him, LOL

Was marmalade boy any good? I've read the manga but I want to know how the acting was in the drama.

Regarding the topic, really wanna say that there are many Taiwan dramas (idol ones) that seems really interesting but in the end when U watch, U regret cos they starts to get very draggy n slow.. but I neva watch Meteor Garden properly so it may not apply to it.Hope I dun offend any pple, cos usually I laugh at most of the drama's lines, sounds very qiong yao if U know wht I mean..
But personally, I was very hooked on to The Rose,esp the chracter Kui inside ..haha..cos the show is very funny but also sad.Its somehow interesting too cos before watching the show, I dun even know the main actors except S.H.E but now I chase for their news.. Keep on recommending it to my frens.. Until now, not 1 person dun like it..So it should not be too bad rite?

K better not tok too much cos this forum is abt Jdorama, not Taiwan dramas..

the only taiwanese drama i have watched (or am watching) are Meteor Garden 1 and 2, so far, i've become addicted to MG1 and so my conclusion is:

taiwanese drama=GOOD

i've watched Meteor garden and luved it. Made me a huge fan of F4, I just luv em. I have watched some eps of Maramalde boy becoz of ken zhu .

I think you can't say if twdrama is good or bad unless you have watched the "real" taiwan dramas and not the idol dramas. Mvp valentine and metor garden and marmalade boy etch are Idol dramas they are starred by young actors but there are the "real" dramas starred by veteran actors and are mostly in the top charts. i dunno if this is accurate but Idol dramas rarely get into the top ratings so when meteor garden which is an idol drama did, it was a big thing.

but i'll definitely continu watching taiwan dramas

i got hooked into a couple of tw dramas: HZGG I and II, Meteor Garden, the Rose, Kiss of Toast Man. the acting was horrible. the only reason i continued watching was cuz of the plot and the "idols"

... so far is crap... only at ep 4 but it's quite boring with a crappy script... are there any decent Taiwanese dramas out there with a decent script and decent actors???

PS. The female lead in westside story - who is she??? Can't act (worst acting I've ever seen so far from a 'lead'), talentless, terribly annoying voice, and generally an annoying **** who makes my blood boil with her antics and voice and crap acting.

why do i feel like laughing and showing this to the blind idiots who rave about this show..? finally someone who isn't a 5566 fan.. they say this was a story made to fit their real characters.. and it's a new challenge in terms of idol drama.. how can it possibly be new if all the main guy leads are as old as anything plus that with no acting talent.. i have totally nothing nothing to say about the girls also.. the female lead is some girl from a squeaky girl idol group called sweety.. forgot her name though..

btw, the only two taiwanese dramas i;ve ever managed to finish was the rose.. by ella of s.h.e. and some relatively new actors who were models before.. (are still models now) they did a great job.. that's a must-watch.. the other was toast boy's kiss with lee wei.. somehow i like the love stories better.. though most of the time i don't bother myself with taiwanese shows..

Just watched another 5 minutes of it (hard to continue this nonsensical stuff, I paused it when the girl started yelling again and act like a spoiled **** accompanied with such an annoying face you just can't help but get pissed off) and I swear... sometimes I just want to punch that girl through my monitor... punching a squeeky voiced girl, who screams like a moron throughout the show every 5 minutes, through a monitor isn't immoral!

haha.. i think most of the people who like this show liked the guys playing it.. 5566.. a supposedly popular taiwanese group.. i don't see why they are popular in the first place, but it's their taste.. they might just wake up cursing their taste only.. =P i never even got through the preview of the drama.. heh.. heard the storyline, saw the actresses, actors and third it's an idiol drama, that's why i hate anything rough in it.. skateboards, motorcycles all should not be in the show... should be called little-gangster-wanting-to-be-big-gangster drama..

No idea what this series is about, but Meteor Garden is a GREAT Taiwanese drama. I highly recommend that series.

Well, i've watched a couple of Taiwan dramas this past year. Of course it was METEOR GARDEN which started me on the craze. I've watched both MG 1 & 2 plus the Meteor Rain Series and i have to admit, these Taiwanese drama idols are not that good actors, but still i liked every episode of the 2 seasons of MG. I have also watched LOVE STORM (the one w/ ZaiZai & Xiao Tian) and it was ok and Ken was so cute in this drama. Then I watched DOLPHIN BAY. And mind you, i do not speak/ understand Mandarin and i watched it without translations. I should say that the actors (Angela Zhang, Ambrose Xu, and others) acted great in this drama that i actually understood the series. I also watched TOMORROW (Rainie Yang & Shawn Yue --he's HK-based actor) and the plot was also good. The acting of some of the actors is a bit OA (over-acting). Right now, I'm watching SUMMER SCENT (Rainie Yang and some guy named Roy something) and so far what i've noticed is that Rainie cries a lot on this series. I'm also watching it in Mandarin so anyone who could help me with the summary or script, please post it.

Here's another thing that I've noticed with Taiwan Actors -- it seems that all of the can sing. It's either they are part of a Boy/Girl Band or has at least a song/ album to their name. It seems that Taiwan dramas are used to promote the actors' songs since the songs are also used for the OST of their dramas. Are they pushing the singers to act so that the dramas will turn into a promo/ advertisement for their songs/ records. Hope not.

Has anyone seen this show on the International Channel? It's a Taiwanese Drama airing late at night, but since I don't know the original title, I can't find much information.

I don't understand the plot too well, but it seems so sad it gripped me. I think it's about this poor schoolgirl, and she's not very well liked at school (she gets framed and teased and what not ), and doesn't have very many friends, but she has her family and that's important to her. (Edit: After watching another episode, it doesn't seem as sad as the first one I watched, and the schoolgirl seems happier more often, so maybe I just caught a depressing episode)

Well, if anyone has seen this show and has any information, I would appreicate it.
