Is that unusual for Kagoshima?

Hoping it doesnt freeze tonight though we've done pretty well after taking precautions, friends who didnt have had tons of pipes bursting, pumps frozen etc. very costly. Sweat

Yup, that's down in Kyushu the southern part of Japan. Almost as rare as snow in Florida.

What a huge drag! MAybe you could carry a little bag of aquarium gravel or sand with you for traction in a emergency?

Oh, that's a good idea! Maybe when I dare try going out again, I should take a little bag of salt.
Although, I'm too afraid to go out before the paths are really clear. Getting stuck wouldn't be so
bad, if only I could stand and walk some. But without wheels, I'm totally stuffed.

I hate holing up so Ive been freezing my a$$ off instead. My feet are like ice cubes during my rides.
Must admit I felt really bummed when I saw we are continuing in the minuses for more nights. So much extra work to keep pipes from freezing and the horses watered. Even the pump froze up one day. Thank god my husband is so handy fixing things. Getting water to 5 horses is a hassle without water running. Have to carry buckets from the pool. House isnt designed for such cold weather so it gets really cold at night even with the heat on full blast.
Winter will NEVER be my favorite season. bleh

But at least we dont have to use salted crisps on the road. Wink

Haha, no road crisps for you. rofl
Is this a normal winter for you Eve, or is it unusually cold? (As you
said your house isn't designed for such weather, it made me wonder).

I was going to say do it for Beckham...but I don't think that would have been enough motivation.

Um, neither, thank you very much! Mr Green

My cat woke me meowing to go out at 5.30 am yesterday morning. I opened the curtains,
and my heart totally sank at snow coming down. It was fine snow, but didn't stop until about
4 pm! And it's not melting yet. I'm so so unhappy, it's unreal. Totally trapped. Puppy Dog Eyes

That totally sucks. I'll bet you've got cabin fever! Pat Pat Pat

We havent had weather like this in 20 years so no one is really prepped for it.
As for my cat. She stands in the doorway then makes a beeline back in. I swear my Little Queen has a bladder larger than she is. She can go 16 hours without going out and no kitty litter. Shocked

I have got cabin fever! It's been three weeks and argh. But! Things are thawing fairly quickly, and it's feeling much milder outside. There's still too much slushy ice about for me to get out, but I can at least see an end in sight. Dancing

Hopefully you will soon be out of the freak weather zone too. Victory! Peace!

Lol, "Little Queen" is a good nickname. I think of my cat as a little madam, with her constant demands. 16 hours without going out - wow. Shocked There's no way my girl would manage that. She's been going out even in the thick snow. Goodness knows why. I have a litter tray, but she hasn't used in in some time (my little girl only started being allowed outdoors about November last year, after being neutered). It's like now she knows about outdoors, she refuses to er, do her business, indoors.

Gotcha. What a weird year. Shake Head

So glad we are back to normal. Highs in the 70's lows in the 50's. Victory! Peace!

Glad you'll soon be out of your box. w00t!

I stopped giving mine litter after I found she was going out 99% of the time. I think she used it occasionally just on principle. Mr Green
