i hope he gains weight too. seems like he is getting too skinny lol.
anyway i heard about the okada being the first choice for chiaki too. i guess it was something like he wanted the theme song to be a V6 song but was rejected and hence tamaki. now that it is, i happy with tamaki playing chiaki. it was a great choice. XD

I didn't know the part about Okada wanting a V6 song to be the theme song. I'm glad it was rejected. I have nothing against V6 but it would be so odd to use a pop song in Nodame Cantabile, classical music it should be.
Tamaki was indeed the perfect choice _________________

Oddly, they use pop songs in the intro and end of the anime versions of Nodame... Very strange, IMO.

I think it's worth the effort.
I was skeptical at the beginning, too, but like the live-action, I got caught up in it as well...
frankly I didn't expect anything when I first watched Nodame nor I knew about it being adapted from the manga and it also has the anime. There was this japanese rental shop which has any japanese dramas, old and new, and lots of japanese variety shows. I felt like being in heaven whenever I was there because I couldn't download a thing back then. I was so much into Dr. Koto's Clinic at that time then I saw Nodame Cantabile, just merely because I saw Tamaki on the cover . I took it, brought it to the cashier, watched it at home, expecting nothing coz it has no subtitle and bham! I WAS HOOKED!
so yeah, I knew about the live action first then I started collecting the manga. The truth is I don't really like the drawing because I like mangas with pretty and beautiful characters in them, like Garasu no Kamen or Seito Shokun (my all time fave mangas btw), but since I really love the live action, I managed to collect it from vol 1, I even bought the last vol even though it's in japanese. I wasn't really interested to watch the anime because I thought it was pretty much the same as the manga but I think I should give it a try _________________

thanks for the link to the anime. is the manga good by the way? cause i kind of can't imagine nodame without music.
also, thanks for the info on MW, i have to watch that!! 2 of my favourite actors. XD
i read them all and the series are actually excellent. The drama cuts a big portion of the manga which delves more into Nodame-Chiaki's relationships and how Chiaki falls for Nodame over all the years. At first, I found it hard to like the manga also because the drawing is kind simple and unattractive for a shoujo (manga for girls) but then I was hooked. The manga was dead hilarious and cute. It made me wanna study music as well.
Definitely recommend every one to read it.
