Yeah we shared everything. Even sharing all the dishes, we were stuffed. The food was really good and yeah, it is rich...I guess that's why they call the restaurant Animal....not for any vegans or light-eaters....those individuals are best served by going elsewhere or staying at home. hehe
Anybody going to eat at Animal should bring an appetite with them!

My favorite dish was probably the bbq pork belly sandwiches...they were amazing. Drooling

The poutine looked pretty amazing.... Like an exotic version of chili-cheese fries. Beaten

My second favorite dish Beaten

That oxtail gravy was so rich and deeply flavored the meat in the dish could have easily been excluded and it still would have tasted great.

The pork belly sandwiches do look really tasty!! Were these like "hamburger" size? smaller...larger? ...just curious.

No they were smaller, like a slider...I think pork belly is far too rich for the sandwich to be a larger size. It would be too much of a good thing, I think. Wink

I wouldn't doubt it, judging from the picture. Drooling

It's one of those dishes that would hit the spot after a round of drinking. Rich and starchy! But it would be pretty tasty at any time I gather. Wink

Yeah.

I did a double-take on that. Head Scratch

I do recall seeing the commercials on channel 18 though, but I didn't realize it was in Vernon. Nut

Hehe...well Vernon is entirely industrial without a single residence I believe...
But I'm with you I would have figured the factory would have been in the South Bay or something. Then again, since it's been around for so long...it makes sense in that Vernon is very close to Little Tokyo, like 5-10 minutes away by car.

Very interesting.... thanks for posting the article! I've been buying Nanka Seimen products for as long as I can remember.

I personally prefer fresh noodles but their products are good, too. Smile
