I'm enjoying the characters a lot but I can't help but feel that Narimiya Hiroki is a miscast...he's just too old for the role. I think he's doing well portraying Shinagawa and I kind of doubt a younger character could make Shinagawa this likeable (I'm imagining someone like Miura Haruma in this role...I'd probably pass this drama right along if that were the case). But he's just so much older than his co-stars and it shows, so it makes for some awkwardness...I'm torn though, cause I don't know who could play this role otherwise.

My thoughts exactly. But then again, after watching a few episodes I can't imagine anyone else playing Shinigawa Daichi... Crazy

Let's just thank our lucky stars that Narimiya Hiroki is doing fine in it and isn't forcing himself to act young and cute. The show's not that original or groundbreaking but at least it's not terribly shallow or nonsensical. It's lighthearted and fun, not at all painful to watch.

Surprisingly enough, I liked the first episode!
w00t!

Narimiya Hiroki is just fine but I was also surprised because actors are usually cast according to their real age as opposed to Western shows/movies. Initially I thought he played a my boss my hero type who IS older because he missed school.

I totally agree catisneko! I would gladly watch another season of those two's shenanigans. I'll miss watching them every week but I must say, the ending was adorable. Dancing

i'll miss watching them every week~

And both Hiroki and Riisa would love to do a sequel or an SP~
*read it on the site reports and on Riisa's blog*

The things that happened in the ending were just like the things that happened in the manga~ XDD

But since the manga isn't over yet.. I'm glad that they left it just like that~

Reading the manga for the last two days. Even though I liked the drama, I must say I like the manga more now that I have read (part of) it. Hana, especially, her interactions with Daichi, and the subtle changes in Daichi ... There are a lot to like about the manga. I hope it doesn't drag on too much though.

Anybody checked this one? Does it worth starting to watch?

I've read the thread on d-addict but it's not very informative: as usual people start liking the drama even before it start airing and the opinions doesn't go much further than "*** is so cuuuuuute!!!!" "*** is really sexyyyy Kawaii!!!!" Shake Head

There's actually a little thread for this in case you missed it. Big Grin
http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.12602.0.htm

I enjoyed it. It wasn't groundbreaking or anything, but it was fluffy and funny and even touching at times. Definitely not a waste of time. I recommend giving it a try.

I became a fan of Naka Riisa and Narimiya after watching it. They have great chemistry and give very likable performances.

I thought it was quite entertaining and funny, but I didn't really care for all those slap-stick moments. I liked them in other dramas! (Nodame, for example)
But it was okay, I guess, and I liked the cast.
