I actually just got the chance to watch this drama. Although many things are left unexplained and I can't stand operations but I like it a lot. I especially like the chemistry between Osawa and Ayase (so am especially happy with the romantic rumor. Mr Green )

Look forward to see season 2. More Osawa and Ayase is love. After watching Jin, I found out they were also in Ichi so I right away ordered Ichi blu ray. hehe

New gJINh cast members include former Olympic swimmer Fujimoto Takahiro
March 21, 2011

The upcoming sequel to the popular drama series gJINh revealed a few new cast members today. One of them is actor Fujimoto Takahiro, who is also a retired medley swimmer with experience in the 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games.

Since his retirement from swimming, Fujimoto has primarily been active in theater. He appeared in the NHK drama gSaka no Ue no Kumo,h but this will be his first appearance in a drama series on one of the major commercial networks. He has been cast as the famous samurai Saigo Takamori, who led the Satsuma Rebellion in 1877.

The new cast members also include Sato Ryuta as a samurai of the Choshu Domain, an original character that did not appear in the manga. Ichikawa Kamejiro will play Nakaoka Shintaro, one of the close associates of Sakamoto Ryoma (still being played by Uchino Masaaki). Miyazawa Kazufumi, a member of the rock band THE BOOM, has been cast as the Shinsengumi commander Kondo Isami.

The new season of gJINh will air on Sundays at 9:00pm, starting on April 17. A collaborative promotional and educational campaign will begin in April with hospitals and other institutions across the country putting up approximately 300,000 posters, featuring cast members such as Ayase Haruka and Nakatani Miki.

gJINh sequel licensed for broadcast in 80 countries
April 12, 2011

The highly anticipated second season of the drama series gJINh will start in Japan this Sunday (April 17), but it has now been announced that the show has also been picked up for broadcast in 80 countries and territories worldwide. This is the first time that a TBS drama has been licensed overseas before it airs in Japan.

While it is common for Japanese dramas to begin airing overseas after the broadcast is over in Japan, the new season of gJINh will be starting in Taiwan just 6 days after its premiere in Japan, and Hong Kong will begin its broadcast in May. Korea is expected to start showing gJINh in July, followed by other parts of Asia, Europe, and the United States. Currently, no parts of South America have been reported as part of the 80 countries and territories.

gJINh will air on Sundays at 9:00pm, starting on April 17. The first episode will be a special lasting 2 hours and 5 minutes long.

Hopefully, someone will produce softsubs for the second season. Fingers crossed
I'll have to go back and re-watch the first season for a refresher.

Wow, I was wondering when Jin 2 would start. Shocked to find out it begins this weekend, now I'm all giddy inside.

Enjoyed the first season, so I've got high expectations for Jin 2 Victory! Peace!

^ I sorta have mixed feelings about this: are they going to milk a Season 3 out of this or conclude the story?

I remember reading that Jin 2 will conclude the story, but I'm sure if the season is successful a Jin 3 or even a Special/Movie may not be out of the question. If Jin 2 ends with Jin back in the present time I don't know what else they can do for the show. Maybe Ayase Haruka's character gets sent to our time or somebody pulls a Biff Tannen and becomes a famous billionaire who builds a hotel and casino in the the centre of downtown Tokyo? Beaten

I searched high and low for first ep yesterday but it wasn't up yet. Jdrama is slower than Kdrama. Just started downloading just now. I have to wait like another 6 hours or so since I don't feel like streaming. I couldn't wait to see the end to it so I saw the raws to the manga. hehe
