Hey y'all.
Got a new computer for very cheap (that doesn't howl like a banshee) and a spiffy new 20mb/s internet connection. Downloaded a 5G torrent in a little over two hours *hugs net connection*

Noticed that the KCET channel has picked up some NHK Japanese programmes this past week. They are travel or interesting Japanese cultural things.
This is an LA and/or Orange county channel I think.
Today it was about a trip to Kamakura. Very interesting including a visit to a large Zen-Buddhist temple
The other one I saw was when a maiko was being promoted to the Geiko stage. It showed all the steps taken to get her into the correct costume and then some of the ritual and finally she was escorted to various tea rooms in the neighbourhood to introduce herself for obtaining customers . Definitely NOT a geisha as thought of in western world and not like a Korean gisaeng. Very proper entertainer.

Yeah, 28.1 has been showing more NHK material since the beginning of the year... And in HD, as opposed to 18.2, which is still broadcasting in SD...

Actually I'm not even a big Scotch drinker...it was a gift I bought for a friend, who shared a bit with me.
I wished I normally received such nice gifts.
It's good to be your friend. Once you've drunk premium, it's hard ever to go back. I prefer cognac to scotch. A nice Ferrand, either Reserve or a Des Anges if I'm really celebrating. I leave the Remy and Henessey to the wannabes trying to emulate gangsta rappers.
