I'm guessing it's probably people who haven't watched many Taigas. Personally, I'm no Taiga expert but this isn't the first time an actor plays a 'young' character.

You'd be right.
I suppose the age thing is beyond their limits of Suspension of Disbelief.

What do they do when they watch Schoolday dramas when the high schoolers who presumably are 15/16 are being played by 24 and 25 year old actors.
That is one situation which would jar on my acceptance I think. |
That's a great analogy.
Like I said, their loss.

Yeah, I think it brings the drama down to Earth and solidifies some of the realities of the drama.

I can't access D-A, so I came here to rave on how much I love Ep3!!
It was such a fun episode. Although I still don't like Etsushi's Nobunaga, but Gou-Nobunaga's scenes were very well-written, and I enjoyed them much. Although it's questionable whether or not it's realistic that the great Oda Nobunaga would spare time to play around with his little niece, but I guess it was not too much either^^
Its very interesting for me that the Sengoku history is told from an 8 years old. I haven't seen any taiga drama told from a child's POV much. Some people may not like it, but this is definitely something fresh for me.
Have been feeling something's lacking since Ep1... and now I realized, I miss the presence of No-hime, Nobunaga's wife. Where is she? Tabuchi Kumiko (the writer) doesn't like her? In other adaptations, it was always shown she also fight using a sword during the Honnoji Incident, too bad seem like I can't see that in this adaptation.
A bit disappointed that the Tsukiyama-dono Incident wasn't told in details, but Ueno Juri's performance in this episode made it up for me
Can't wait for next week! _________________ "Let's create a world without war together"

Pity, she sounds cool. Since they showed Nobunaga's sons, I thought they'd mentioned the wife or concubines.
Seems then, they're going for the broody lone bachelor image.
*waiting for ep 3...*

No, they only follow the historical facts. All of NobunagaLs affection belonged to the beautiful boy you see most of the time next to him, his Varlet Ranmaru, the closest person to Nobunaga all his life. They shared a close bond, back then known as wakashūdo.
Nōhime was sent away by Nobunaga a few years after their marriage, officially because she was believed to be barren, but you can surely say that she and Nobunaga never get along well. In contrast to Nobunaga and Kitsuno, his concubine who bore his two oldest sons and daughter, but she died 1566 already.
In most TV Works, Nōhime was put into place of Ranmaru fighting at Honnoji by NobunagaLs side until the end, which was pure fiction. It seems that the Producers/Writers just wanted somebody young girls could identify with.
I hope that we can this time get to see the real Honnoji!

Hey, long time no see. Thanx for the insight!
In fact I did read from Wikipedia that Ranmaru died at Honnoji with Nobunaga

I like this Nobunaga a lot too, Ranmaru haven't seen much yet, but from the episodes title list (http://community.livejournal.com/tokugawa_gou/6078.html) it is pretty clear when the Honnoji incident will happen.
