This is sad news. But thank you so much for your hard work! Subbing really needs so much effort and to have a good basis is very helpful. Hopefully it will turn out good and I keep my finger crossed that someone will take over! Fingers crossed

(Potential) bad news...the person who has been providing Japanese subs will cease the database after January. Still, I'm grateful for his work done this far.

What does this mean?
1. Hopefully someone else will pick up the work and continue with a database.
2. If 1. doesn't happen, maybe I can somehow get the release with Japanese subs embedded or hardsubbed (this means I might have to do the timing for every single line on my own)
3. Translate it from purely my own listening (/cries)

Let's hope it's either 1. or 2..

Taiga is really tough to translate without a script (sometimes even with it). If it's 2. or 3. the release of English subs will not be able to meet the one-week-after-airing timeline...

Okay, you guys can rest easy now.

I googled a bit around the Chinese websites and found a place where they upload Japanese subtitles, and guess what, Gou is one of them!

Since it's not automated, it might not be as fast as my original source...but still...I'm so glad I don't have to resort to #2 or #3 in my last post, lol.

I'm awaiting approval to join their BBS.

I've probably been the most critical here about adults playing kids. 24 year old actors playing teens can work due to the tendency for Asians to look young, and the cultural "ideal" body figure tending to be effiminate men, and figureless women. Playing a child, however, is a much greater stretch not only because of the significant physical difference, but also how poorly the writing and directing is. So the question is, did the age thing completely overshadow the rest of the taiga? Or are these viewers ignoring the larger story because of a small, temporary casting/directing choice?

I don't think it does... If the age issue wasn't mentioned, I wouldn't have noticed or really cared: it doesn't affect the story whatsoever, IMO.

Good to know. So the d-addicts viewers dropping out from watching are ignoring the larger story and plot development in the episode because they can't get over a temporary age thing? Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Apparently a majority of the first act covers her youth.

I could understand of the acting stunk, but it's been top-notch so far (bias notwithstanding)... So far, Juri-chan's portrayed her character with wide eyes, precociousness, and verve... What you would expect from a youth. Victory! Peace!

Juri-chan is absolutely showing the difference between playing Nodame (a childish adult) and little Gō (smart and curious kid). Applaud

ILm quite curious about the lineup for the Horse Parade, they showed on the official site.
Something seems to make Mitsuhide grumbling about it. Shake Head
Any idea what the different colors (Brown, Blue and Red) and descriptions means?

In moments like this I wish I could read japanese. Shameful Cry

Horse Parade?

Mitsuhide seems to be Nobunaga's whipping boy: he's always slapping him around. Sweat

I wish my Japanese was better too... benkyō benkyō...

The labels for the groups are:
Red: Nobles (Oda Clan Family) ... 5 and 6 are Nobunaga's sons
Blue: Imperial Court
Green: Echizen group.
Brown: I don't know Head Scratch but nr. 37 is Oda Nobunaga and 27 are the pages...
Hideyoshi won't attend because he's busy with a military campaign...

Mitsuhide: since Nobunaga is using him as a punching bag, who wouldn't be grumpy (...except for Saru Rolling eyes). Also he was shown in the first ep killing a woman and getting blod splatters on the face: he's evil! Bleah

The Military Horse Parade, they perform next week in front of the Emperor.

He is and was, yes, but still, Mitshuhide has a place in the Parade and a Horse, so why that grumpy face, I thought. Grumble
Well, there might be a hint maybe, because the lineup is assorted with a reason?
Is it because he as Senior General is not in a higher spot? It just looks interesting, doesnLt it?

Actually, I thought he expressed remorse when he killed that woman... I felt he didn't want to kill any of those people, but had to by orders. Sweat
