And it starts airing on KSCI-18 this Saturday at 9PM... But in SD. Sad

I'm also curious how the KIKU-TV subs will compare with Liubeibei's softsubs...

Are these 2 channels' subs different? Is either one (or both) officially subbed by NHK? I am really curious how similar/different theirs and mine are, lol.

KIKU-TV is in Hawaii and they typically do the subbing for the Taiga dramas, which end up being broadcast here in SoCal, KSCI-18.2... Not sure if they're official, but the (hard)subs are legitimate, since it is broadcast over the air. Smile

The downside is that the local broadcast station doesn't have the bandwidth, so it's only in SD Grumble ...I'm guessing someone at D-Addicts from Hawaii will be recording these broadcasts and uploading them... In HD.

Ahh I see. I went to Kiku's website and Gou isn't even on their program list yet. But on their FB page it appears that the first episode aired on Feb 15.

Do tell us how the translation is Bow It's one way for me to gauge my proficiency. Fingers crossed

PS: don't worry, I'm confident that I haven't misled the storyline for you guys who have watched with my subs, lol.

I think 7th-key meant that it's slower because they just started airing now, a month or so since my first release.

Like I said, hopefully someone will upload the KIKU-TV version to D-Addicts.

If I recall, the person who does the subbing for KIKU-TV is Sandra Iha.

Oh.

I suppose there's a lot more overhead involved when broadcasting is involved.

Thanks for those scans! Dancing

OT #1: Just started watching Nodame, such a different experience but I love it all the same. Her "sugoi...!" is identical lol.

OT #2: Akechi-sama is gonna be playing Saru in this upcoming Sengoku movie called ̂ڂ̏ (Nobou no Shiro, or Nobou's Castle). It's about the Battle of Oshi Castle (Hideyoshi vs the Hojo clan of Kanto). Suzuki Honami, Hira Takehiro and Ashida Mana will be in this movie too.

Cool.

I'd be really funny if Kishitani Goro played Mitsuhide in the movie... Role reversal. Mr Green

LOL, if I'm not wrong, with the exception of Cha-Cha, all the characters those actors played in Gō are all going to be dead when that battle will take place. It will feel like a zombie movie. Beaten

It's not her problem that people always see Nodame, it's theirs.

Yeah the siege of Oshi Castle took place about 8 years after the Incident at Honnoji. Since the movie seems to be on just this battle, I doubt Chacha will be in it at all.

Suzuki Honami plays the second wife of the head of the Narita clan (Hojo vassal, guarding the Oshi Castle).

Ashida Mana plays the granddaughter of some village elder.

Hira Takehiro (Gou's first husband in Gou) plays Natsuka Masaie, Toyotomi Hideyoshi's vassal (former vassal of Niwa Nagahide).
