Just finished Episode 9... Victory! Peace!

The human drama has just been terrific so far... And incredibly tragic. Sad

I really pity those who gave up so quickly on this drama. Shake Head

Yup. My friend in Kobe posted this (along with other stuff) on her message board today: NHK announced they will cancel "Gou" airing this week.

It now occurs to me that three great disasters happened in 2011: The Tohoku earthquake, the taiga "Gou", and the destruction of JDorama.com because of one fanboy and his continuous drooling. Shake Head

Not surprised. I've been watching someone streaming NHK BS-hi since the tsunami and right now it's still news coverage only.

Guess I get a vacation for a week, but I was so looking forward to ep 10 though.

Ganbatte Japan!

Some of the lighter, family moments are really good: they take some of the edge off of the seriousness and intensity of the drama. Victory! Peace!

The last time a Taiga drama episode postponed its airing was in 1989 when Emperor Showa passed away. It was the second episode of Kasuga-no-Tsubone.

Interestingly, Kasuga was the wet nurse of Gou's eldest son, Iemitsu.
