Regarding the wet nurses, from what I've been gathered, the high ranking women tend to be too busy (especially those who gave births frequently) to nurse their children.

Busy?? Crazy What kind of activities do they have that they don't have time to breast-feed their babies? Crazy As far as I see Ichi's daily activities, she has only done incense burning, embroidery, and all, to me it looks like things done only to kill time. They got their foods cooked by the servants, they got their hair combed by their maids, seriously I think all princesses in Sengoku era are very "hima" Mr Green

Besides, since the wet nurses are also going to be the "teachers/advisors" of their young masters/ladies, having this kind of a bond wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Rather than advisors, they look like personal maids, to me^^[/quote]

Maybe by "busy" it means they would rather do those "elegant" things than "chores."

I talked to my mom regarding this. She told me that she and her siblings each had their own wet nurse (this was Vietnam in the 1930-40s).

To her it was almost like a wealthy family thing, hiring wet nurses from less-than-wealthy families, and the ones in her family went back home after the breastfeeding months were finished, instead of following the babies for life.

Crazy I can literally hear her voice in my head now hehe

BTW, is Saeko's real life voice really like that as in the drama? Just wondering.

Hmm... I thought maybe they were trying to find good quality breast milk, or something like the high status ladies aren't allowed to breast-feed their own babies due to some superstitious or something. So I guess that's not the case...
Anyway, 肪ƂIŒׂĂ݂ ^_^

Yup, that's Saeko's real voice. Does it bother you? Many Japanese women have voices like that. Like, YOU... and many female seiyuu-s have that kind of natural voices. Fushigi ne^^ I never find those kind of voices in my country.

And do tell us what you find out about the wet nurses Dancing

No Saeko's voice doesn't bother me or anything haha. I thought maybe because she was trying to sound like the character in the anime, which I haven't seen yet. Makoto ni fushigi da ne.

I found this in WIKI:

‚āÂ݂悤ȗǎ̑pȂɂ͕̏ö͓̐ɒڈeyڂA̖ɂւB̂߁AcAAMAƁA邢͖LȉƂ̏ꍇAeɑē^gB

܂Ag̍lԂ͎qĂ̂悤ȎGłׂł͂ȂƂlÂƂɔCقǂƂ̍lAꂵAeɑĎqĂslƂB

The 2nd paragraph quite answered my question, so raising children including breast-feeding is considered "chores" (rough work), which is why the high-status ladies aren't allowed to raise their children by themselves.

But I don't really get the 1st paragraph which is saying, that bad quality breast milk can affect the child's growth, so they hire wet nurses. Are they trying to say that the birth mothers' breast milk have bad quality? How can they know?? XD

This kind of answer my other question, too.

܂AƂ_ƂȂǂŁAedŎqĂłȂꍇɁANႢVقĎq邱Ƃ邪Ȁꍇ́u˂vAu΂vȂǂƌĂ΂邱ƂB

So, in other words, while Ichi hired Yoshi as "wet nurse" for Gou, Yoshi might have hired "babysitter" for her own baby? lol. So complicated.

Watched episode 13 again... There's a lot more emotion when you have the subtitles. Sweat

Interesting bit of history/reality irony: At Owari, Go can see Ueno Castle. Smile

And I've seen that faint somewhere before:

Nope, the image in my head was blurred by Nodame's half faint when Harisen handed her the scripts for the konkuuru's final round. Nut
