KFC's Double Down Lands In New Zealand, Declared A 'Crime Against Food'
KFC's Double Down will be unveiled in 93 New Zealand stores tomorrow and controversy has already been brewing. TV cook Annabelle White calls the bunless sandwich a "crime against food" and says there is "absolutely nothing redeeming about this product."
However, not everyone shares these sentiments, as the over 2600 followers of the Facebook group Bring the KFC Double Down Burger to New Zealand proves. Fans have been camping out in front of KFC in anticipation.
When the Double Down first went on sale in the U.S. in 2009, over 10 million were sold within the first month. In Canada, 360,000 sandwiches were sold in the first 10 days.
KFC claims that the Double Down is "most anticipated burger ever to hit New Zealand," thanks partly to the buzz from its March launch in Australia, as well as continued buzz from North America.
All this hoopla may be for naught though; the Double Down is only around for five weeks.

IT'S STILL SALT... Sodium Chloride.
Sea salt is better tasting, not better for you. I think that's where the confusion comes from. It's all about the flavor profile and the bouquet. Once you go natural sea salt (sel gris, fleur de sel, etc) you'll think Morton's tastes like chemicals. Even the chemically processed "sea salt" (e.g. costco sea salt) has a fuller profile than table salt.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I want. More. When I saw the PILES of fresh navajas at La Boqeuria, i wanted to (a la Dotch Cooking show comments) "cover myself with them".

Here's what's wierd. I never cared for olives til I ate them in Spain. Now, I can't find any good ones, the ones you get at Whole Foods come close, but it doesn't quite have the same punch.

Second Ave Deli Sued For Heart Attack Sandwich

NEW YORK �\ A popular New York City deli says a potential legal challenge to its Instant Heart Attack sandwich isn't kosher.
A lawsuit filed Tuesday in federal court says the Heart Attack Grill restaurant chain has accused the 2nd Avenue Deli of stealing its idea to spoof healthy eating with calorie-bomb entrees like the three-patty Triple Bypass Burger. It asks the court to block the Arizona-based restaurant chain from pursuing a trademark infringement case.
The deli's Instant Heart Attack sandwich is a mountain of two potato pancakes and a piled-high choice of corned beef, pastrami, turkey or salami. The price: $23.95.
The Manhattan deli also has plans for a new Triple Bypass sandwich.
A Heart Attack Grill attorney hasn't returned a message seeking comment. A 575-pound man who served as the company's spokesman died in March.

yes, i have a horrible gourmet salt addiction now
I agree it taste better than Morton's table salt which uses chemicals to strip all the other minerals out of the salt aside from sodium chloride. So as 'racer said, I think we all agree, too much of any salt is bad for you.
I like Maldon Sea Salt by the way It tastes great and it's so flaky and crunchy.
