Finished Gaiji Keisatsu - very good, would recommend it to anyone looking for a different kind of police drama. Excellent acting by all involved, especially Watabe Atsuro. Love that there are no black and white characters, and lots of shades of murky grey - each character has his or her own (selfish) motivations. Haven't seen such strong characterisation in a while. Ending was a bit muted though, but on the whole, a very good watch.

Also started episode 1 of Sengyou Shufu Tantei and already making a mental note to resist the urge to throttle Fukada Kyoko. It's a good thing the drama is about her character growth because otherwise Serina is completely useless. I'm really watching this for Fujiki Naohito - his husband character is okay, seems to be some sort of spy for Serina's dad.

I'm kinda surprised you tuned into the first episode of a drama that's currently airing? Shocked

Think it's the first time and perhaps last time, much rather watch all the episodes back to back to back.... just curious to see what Ryoko was looking like these days, answer to that is Victory! Peace! Victory! Peace! Victory! Peace! Victory! Peace! .

Awesome. Maybe I'll have to check out 11 Nin mo Iru. This season's drama line-up is stacked with interesting dramas.

Meanwhile, I finished My Boss My Hero, which has now become my favorite school drama. So funny and refreshingly entertaining. Nagase Tomoya gave the best comedic performance that I've seen so far in a J-Drama.

Good, I'll try that one next. Im watching an older series called Hanjuku Tamago. Which is a family comedy but is one good for a single ep at a time in my opinion.

I like Nagase Tomoya but I think he put in in more entertaining comic performances acitng in writer Kudo Kankuro's dramas like Tiger & Dragon and IWGP for example.

I haven't seen Tiger & Dragon, but I'll definitely put it on my watch list. IWGP, however, I really don't care all that much for it. I thought it was kinda boring and it felt like the writers didn't know what direction they wanted to take, even though they had a lot of interesting material to work with. So far, I like Nagase best in MBMY and Karei Naru Spy.

You might want to check out Utahime as well, as he stars in that show too.

Been meaning to check out Karei Naru Spy for a while, think that may be my next new watch. Mr Green Nagase was very good in MBMY, but also saw him in Yan Papa, he was terrible beyond any kind of description. Twisted
Currently up to episode 3 of Niji No Mukou E, think it's okay but hard to tell sometimes with these unsubbed dramas. Nut
Also doing a rewatch, at least the 5th rewatch of it, hehe of Papa to Musume no Nanokakan.

I guess I'll avoid Yan Papa.

Karei Naru Spy is good during the second half. The first half isn't bad, but it starts out a little slow and cheesy at first. Have fun with your rewatch of Papa to Musume no Nanokakan. That's one of my other favorite comedies.

Started that too, thought Kyoko did a good job, Dancing more so the last half of that first episode, though it was only a so-so beginning does have the potential to be a really good one. Fingers crossed

I als watched the first episode of Sengyou Shufu Tantei. I thought it was ok. Kyoko did ok, but her character was meant to be annoyingly clingy in the first half of the episode. I do like the premise of the drama, however, I think the first scene completely ruins the purpose of the drama as well.

Must be my week for light and fluffy. Beaten

But Im currently entertained by the first 2 ep of Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge.

Surreal, often sill and still somehow it works. I didnt read the manga but Im guessing they took some of the better bits from it.

For Fujiki's sake, I hope the drama gets better! Fingers crossed Can't wait for next year's taiga, hopefully it'll be good as well.

Also started episode 1 of Mitsu no Aji, already rooting for Kanno Miho's character because I do not like Eikura Nana or her character. Also, she looks awful with the hair extensions (well, I'm assuming they are, have only really seen her with short hair). Arata looks like a washed-out salaryman.

LOL rofl I am so in agreement with your comment. I mean I LOVE Arata but even I have to admit that he looks like a washed out salary man. He's also too old at 37 to play a guy who's 27, 28 years old.
And let me not even get started at Eikura-chan's hair, I posted in her thread, ridiculous fake hair!
OT started episode 3 of the above drama.

Tenshi no Wakamae:http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1556.htm

My only complaint is that it's way too short! Nice plot, good actors, but only five episodes but they certainly had enough material for at least eight.

Think they were setting up things too much for the rest of the series which is why they gave Kyoko so much screentime, his part in episode one was really nothing until the very end, he was also just a tad too dour but at least his hair looks so much better than in Control. hehe
