Yes Aya Ueto does sing in it (in Mandarin and the songs are from the period of the 30s/40s) it sounded good to me but you probably need to ask a Mandarin speaker whether her singing in Chinese was any good or not. Its a very interesting drama based on the life of Ri Kouran/Shirley Yamaguchi revolving around the time of Sino-Japanese conflict thru to WWII and therfore probably not to everyone's taste. However it was brave of her to speak and sing in Chinese.The other major character is played by Kikuwa Rei who plays Yoshiko Kawashima and whose life is contrasted with Ri Kouran's.

I've always liked Aya Ueto's singing voice the last album I bought of hers was her Happy Magic Smile Project back in 2009 I don't think she's released anything since then.Just finished Hokaben very enjoyable.

omg scans please! I'd get one too if it wasn't so pricey Just finished Hotelier. It was pretty good, but the romance made me a little uneasy. Ending sucked too, but I guess it was a happy one

I just finished Attack No.1, it was enjoyable to say the least. A lot of people seem to hate it though Probably going to have to wait a whole year for Thermae Romae to come out on DvD and have it subbed though...
