When in Japan, where is it likely for someone like me to have a chance to see Yutaka? I mean where does he hangout? I'm not a stalker, far from it, but it's always nice to just take a glimpse of what they're really like when not acting. Are they human?

Yutakalover:

When I first found this board, I read the whole thing. In the very first few pages, some people who live in Japan talked about seeing Yutaka here and there. That was back in 2004, so he may have moved. He apparently lives (lived) in Yutenji. They said that Yutenji is in Tokyo and is one station after Nakameguro on the Toyoko line. Many stars are also seen around Ebisu. I hope you enjoy your trip and are not disappointed if you don't see him. At least you got to see him in Australia (You are so lucky).

In the photo from the Blue Ribbon Awards ceremony, the other people are actors, directors, etc. who also won awards this year, as well as the hosts. It was an interesting year because the winner for best new artist was the youngest winner ever (the little girl in the white dress on the right) and the best director was the oldest winner ever (the man in the wheelchair beside her).

Yutaka should not worry about speaking in public. His fans are always cheering for him!

Takenouchi Yutaka to star in drama series gMou Ichido Kimi ni, Proposeh
Posted on February 24, 2012 by tokyograph

Actor Takenouchi Yutaka (41) will star in a drama series on TBS this spring, titled gMou Ichido Kimi ni, Propose.h The show is described as a love story involving a wife who has partly lost her memory and her husband who tries to reconstruct their relationship.

Takenouchi plays Miyamoto Haru, who works as a mechanic at an automobile repair shop. He married his wife Kanako, a librarian, after dating for a year. In their fourth year of marriage, they have no children, but everything seems to be going smoothly. One day, Kanako suffers from a subarachnoid hemorrhage. She successfully undergoes surgery, but she loses only her memories with Haru. Reeling from shock, Haru becomes aware again of just how important Kanako is to him, and he resolves to fall in love all over again with her and try to rebuild their relationship from scratch. However, the challenge is whether he can reach her heart once again.

The casting for Kanako and the other characters has not yet been announced, but the showfs website indicates a big-name cast.

The series will premiere in April, airing weekly in TBSfs Frday 10:00pm time slot.

I just came back from Tokyo after a 2 week vaca....met a bunch of locals and from the brief convos with them, a lot of stars congregate in roppongi, at the bars/clubs frequented by the expat community. I was there a lot because I was with other expats partying and honestly, u wouldn't know if are standing next to a star or not because no one really cares over there/knows....The stars go there to unwind, typically with their posse at some VIP booth at the corner.... I was at this after hours bar at 5am and there were a ton of gorgeous prostitutes with their pimps standing in the corner and a bunch of dudes came in (gaijins and locals) and one of them was in some drama (don't know the name of the dude, but from the little jdrama I watch even I recognize the dude)... No one bothered them, he was openly hanging with the prostitutes... Honestly I can't picture YT to be the type that hangs at clubs but if you wanna chance it with the celebrities, meet some locals and tell them to take you to roppongi.

Yay! A new drama for us to watch! w00t! However, I wish Takenouchi would get more TV roles where he isn't the "romantic lead." I liked that he got to be a bit of a goof in Boss. Can't he be the lead in a comedy, or in an action drama, etc.? This seems to be another show where I'll be wiping away the tears, while berating myself for sobbing over a syrupy melodrama. I guess the networks know that the majority of women want to swoon over him and put themselves in the leading actress's place. The plot of this new one sounds quite a bit like the recent movie "The Vow" where a childless couple who have been married for five years suffer after the wife is in a car accident and loses her memory of the entire time they have been married. The husband has to try to win her heart again.

Anyway, as far as catching sight of Takenouchi in Japan goes, I think it will be unlikely, no matter where you go. I think I would rather not see him at all than see him partying with prostitutes. I would probably recognize fewer than 10 Japanese actors anyway, so if I ever go to Japan, I could be surrounded by famous people and have no idea!

How wonderful, something to look forward to. I watched Nagareboshi so many times now, I lost count. As far as his drama goes this is the best because there's chemistry between yutaka and the lead actress. I wish Yutaka would do something like the Korean drama Wild Romance, where u can laugh, and cry. I hope he will stop doing BOSS if there's another BOSS.
Can anyone tell me where the location will be for his new drama and shooting dates?

According to http://jdramas.wordpress.com, the actors and time for Takenouchi's new drama have been announced:
Mou Ichido Kimi ni Puropozu
Date: From 10.00 p.m., Fridays, April 2012
Station: TBS
Cast: Takenouchi Yutaka, Kurashina Kana (age 24), Yamamoto Yusuke (age 24), Wakui Emi (age 41), Maya Kyoko (age 60)

Takenouchi's characted is called Haru. Wakui Emi plays his wife, Kanako. Yamamoto will be Kanako's brother and Kyoko will play Kanako's mother. Kurashina Kana will play one of Haru's co-workers who has a crush on him. Takenouchi's character is a mechanic. I think he will be quite comfortable in that role, as I read that he likes to tinker with car engines. I wish I had a photo of him looking all messy, smudged with engine oil. Naughty

I am so happy that Takenouchi will be in a new drama! I can't wait for the subs to come out.

Here is a photo of Takenouchi's charming smile. I can't help smiling when I look at it.

Hello All! Is anyone watching Mou Ichido Kimi ni? I just watched the first episode on dramacrazy (http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/mou-ichido-kimi-ni-propose-episode-1/222355). Yutaka is looking very fine as usual. Hope everyone is doing well! Big Grin

Deirdre,

I have still only watched the first episode and about 1/2 of the second. At first I thought Emi Wakui would be too old to play Takenouchi's wife, since I had only seen her in Fumo Chitai before, and she seemed a lot older than he was there. However, they seem pretty well matched in this. I haven't really watched enough episodes to form an opinion of the show yet, but I don't really care what it is like--I will watch anything he is in. Well, with the exception of Wenny Has Wings. I actually own that, but I can't bring myself to watch a movie about a family dealing with the death of their daughter. I have a young daughter myself, and I know I would cry uncontrollably through that whole show.

Anyway, I hope to find the time to marathon through the rest of the episodes that are subbed very soon.

^ I've watched the first two episodes. Not too bad, can't figure out why the ratings are so low. No peacoat for this drama, but he does have a nice black leather jacket.

Yutaka Takenouchi to host NHK documentary

Actor Takenouchi Yutaka will serve as the navigator for NHKfs special documentary program, eShusen Ketsudan ~Naze Motto Hayaku Dekinakattanoka~e (tentative title).

As this will be his first time navigating a war documentary, Takenouchi expressed, gI will do my best, so people will come to know the etruthf.h

He further stated, gAfter starring in eTaiheiyou no Kiseki -Fox to Yobereta Otoko-f (war film released in 2011), I thought about how I shouldnft forget about the ewarf, and I realized that I should tell people about it. When I received this offer, I felt that this was a mission that was given to me, and so I accepted it.h

eShusen Ketsudan ~Naze Motto Hayaku Dekinakattanokaf is a documentary that will focus on the last few years of the Pacific War. It will broadcast on NHK Sougou on August 15 at 7:30PM JST.

Hi gaijinmark! I was just going to post the news, but you beat me to it. I will just add the picture that goes with the article. Maybe that will finally flip us onto page 150. Unfortunately, it sounds like this latest work will only be narration, so we won't get to see our Yutakasan, but his voice is also lovely. Also, I am very interested in the Pacific War, especially seeing it from the Japanese persepective, so if anyone uploads the show anywhere, I will definitely watch it!

Man, can this guy suit up, or what!

I hope everyone is busy enjoying the summer, and that is why they haven't dropped in.

Hello , all Yutaka fans out there, I am new to this forum, but have been a follower of him since Nagareboshi. Then I searched and searched and saw all his previoous work, and now I am deeply hooked to this amazingly handsome and amazingly distinguished actor.

I just finished watching ,then re-watching Mou Ichido Kimi Ni proposed, I loved his total immersion kind of natural acting, and I love the series. Mind you, though, I am married for n years, so may be I am a rightful niche audience for the show.

Shall visit often, nice to know of this forum.

Hi Sunny12sky! Welcome to the best place for Yutaka fans on the net! Wow, I can't believe you have watched everything he has been in. Which was your favourite?

I think it would be fun if everyone wrote a little bit saying when they first discovered Yutaka, or why they became his fan.

I only discovered him a few years ago, by complete accident. I was watching the last season of Lost, and I looked online for Hiroyuki Sanada to see if I had seen him in something before. I am not sure how I stumbled onto a site that listed Asian actors (because I am sure I would have just gone to IMDB), but there I was scrolling down a list of actors when I was arrested by the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. You can guess who it was. I think the profile picture was the famous "GTO poster" one. Of course, I thought, 'Well, he's ridiculously handsome, but he looks like he's in his 20s. Too young for me!'. Then I looked him up, and found out that he is only a year younger than I am and not married. Much like you, nevermind that I am happily married--a girl can still dream! Anyway, since then, I have watched a great many of his dramas, starting with With Love. Beyond his looks, I was so happy to find that he is a very good actor, he seems like a good person (only good people love dogs, right?) and he is only getting better and better as an actor.

I just about died when I watched Ningen no Shomei (Proof of the Man) and recognized some places where it was filmed. I realized that some of it had been filmed about a mile away from my house! (If you have seen it, the bar they went to, "Dublin Docks," is about a five-minute drive from my house). I didn't know he existed then, so I missed my chance to see him in person! Bang Head You can bet I would have been stalking that set hard!

Your turn!

Hello there, Scorpio, I am Libra, one sign away from you.

You asked for my favourite Yutaka work, in fact, I love him in all ! Not only is he increditably handsome and charismatic, but he treated all his role, big or small so professionally and acting with his heart!. I remember reading a critic saying that when you watch him in any series / movies, you soon forget you are watching Yutaka the actor, but you are seeing some character / person in the form and shape of Yutaka. I think this depict his mightiness the darw us all to him, a shining star, yet also someone near and around. Still, the roles I love most are from Nagareboshi, and the recent Mou Ichido Kimi Ni Propose.

Like you, I missed him by a week when he went down to Sydney for the Japanese festiva last Novemberl. I lived in Sydney for many years, and I went back for a holiday. BUT I had to :bonk: be back to work a week before he went there. Or else, I should have been in the theatre cheering my heart out. :bonk

Our dear Yutaka has been in New York, taking an acting class with Roberta Wallach. His experiences will be shown on NHK in early October. Since documentaries don't seem to be saved and subbed like dramas are, I am begging one of our Japanese friends to record it and put it online. I guess a lot of it will be in English, since his teacher is American.

I think it is fantastic that after 20 years in the business, Takenouchi san is still interested in improving. He is already considered to be a good actor. I would like to continue to see him in challenging roles.

Here are a few shots of him in action in NYC. His hair is getting so long again!

I hope everyone is doing well, and will return with the fall rain!

I think he is more charming and charismatic then ever, show his true self and raw emotions.

Hi Sunny!

Thanks so much for that great link! I had trouble finding information about this program, because there isn't much on English sites, and Google Translate is terrible. Can you read Japanese or Chinese? If so, you are very lucky because you will be able to learn so much more about Yutaka. There are many magazine interviews in Asian magazines, but nothing in English.

I love seeing photos of him as he is--just wandering around New York or whatever, not just "acting" or posing for a magazine. I like him in glasses.Smitten Did you see the photo of Yutaka with a fan, taken at a Japanese restaurant in New York? It is on a "Yutaka Takenouchi" fan site on Facebook. That is the round-about way I found out about this TV program!

I really want to see this documentary. I think watching the process actors go through to discover the character and show us their emotions without looking like they are 'acting' would be fascinating.
