Sawajiri Erika makes acting comeback in mobile drama �gL et M�h

Sawajiri Erika is making her return to acting with a double role in a mobile drama called �gL et M: Watashi ga Anata wo Aisuru Riyuu, Sono Hoka no Monogatari.�h This will be her first work as an actress since the movie �gClosed Note�h in 2007.
�gTenshi no Koi�h director Kanchiku Yuri is directing the 12-episode series. The drama separately follows the love lives of two very different women, both played by Sawajiri. �gL�h is a cool working woman who shies away from love, while �gM�h is pure and cute but can be a little devilish when it comes to men.
Fashion magazines sweet and GLAMOROUS are providing the outfits for L and M, said to total about 50 in number.
The series will be distributed through the BeeTV mobile service between February 1 and April 9, 2012. New episodes are scheduled for release on Mondays, with each episode advancing both of the story lines.

Sawajiri Erika confirmed to star in Ninagawa Mika�fs adaptation of �gHelter Skelter�h manga

Actress Sawajiri Erika is confirmed to be making her return to the big screen with a live-action adaptation of Okazaki Kyoko�fs manga �gHelter Skelter.�h The movie will be just the second feature film directed by photographer Ninagawa Mika, who directed �gSakuran�h in 2007.
Sawajiri has not starred in a movie since �gClosed Note�h in 2007, due to her unprofessional conduct at a PR event for the film. She recently has begun regularly appearing in television commercials again, and she also is starring in a mobile drama that begins next month.
�gHelter Skelter�h began publication in 2003, and the following year it won the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. The story revolves around a woman named Ririko (Sawajiri), a top model in the entertainment industry. However, her perfect beauty has been attained entirely through plastic surgery, a secret that she cannot reveal to anyone.
Ninagawa said that she has been wanting to adapt �gHelter Skelter�h since even before she worked on �gSakuran.�h Producer Uda Mitsuru also revealed that he first talked with Sawajiri about starring in the movie about three years ago, before the adaptation rights had been obtained and the screenplay had been written.
The supporting cast includes Omori Nao as a prosecutor investigating an incident at the clinic where Ririko underwent surgery, Terajima Shinobu as Ririko�fs manager, Mizuhara Kiko as a younger model, Kubozuka Yosuke as Ririko�fs boyfriend, Momoi Kaori as the president of Ririko�fs agency, and Harada Mieko as the head of the clinic. Ayano Go, Arai Hirofumi, Suzuki Anne, Terajima Susumu, and Aikawa Sho have also been cast.
�gHelter Skelter�h opens in theaters on July 14, 2012.

Because the original manga includes mature topics such as sex and drugs, there is some speculation that Sawajiri may have a nude scene in the film. A source familiar with the matter neither confirmed nor denied the possibility.

Sawajiri Erika to return to television with drama special �gAkujo ni Tsuite�h

Sawajiri Erika will star in a drama special on TBS titled �gAkujo ni Tsuite,�h it has been announced. This will be Sawajiri�fs first time acting in a television drama (not counting mobile TV) since a special episode of �g1 Litre no Namida�h in 2007.
�gAkujo ni Tsuite�h is an adaptation of a 1978 novel by the late writer Ariyoshi Sawako. The novel was a masterpiece of its time, and it was also notable for having a television drama airing as it was being serialized in a magazine.
Sawajiri plays Kimiko, the main character of the story who has died. Although the title implies that it is a story of a �gwicked woman,�h the original novel was divided into 27 chapters, one for each �gtestimony�h by someone who knew Kimiko at some point in her life, providing a range of perspectives on what kind of person Kimiko was.
Sawajiri�fs supporting cast has not yet been revealed, but expectations are high given the novel�fs reputation and history.
�gAkujo ni Tsuite�h is scheduled to air on April 30.

Erika Sawajiri to miss premiere of 'Helter Skelter'
Actress Sawajiri Erika will be absent from the Japan premiere of her upcoming film, �eHelter Skelter�e, which will be held on July 5th.
This was announced by Sawajiri�fs agency Avex Management Group on her official website. The post stated, �gSawajiri Erika, who has been on hiatus due to her poor health, will be absent from tomorrow�fs (July 5th) Japan premiere of �eHelter Skelter�f because of her poor condition.�h
�eHelter Skelter�f marked Sawajiri�fs return to film after five and a half years. However, back in May, she canceled all promotions for the film due to her poor health.
The movie will open in theaters across Japan on July 14th.
