Finished Magma.

Liked the actors in this drama, but that was about it. Didn't really care about the storyline, and about the ending...as the saying goes: "Even Ray Charles could have seen it coming..." (sorry Ray) Beaten

Finally finished Love Generation. I do like the chemistry between Kimura and Matsu, though I have to say that it was Matsu who really carried the drama. From seriously disliking Riko at the beginning to being able to sympathise with her as she went through ups and down with Teppei, it says a lot about how Matsu was able to make the character likeable despite Riko being too in-your-face for words.

Some of the best scenes are actually of Riko and her dad - I love the bit where he saw her off at the Nagano train station, telling her it's okay to come home when things get too tough in Tokyo. And again, when she's leaving for Tokyo in the last episode, that he was never worried about her and so long as she knew where to return to when things got tough, that was good for him. Such an awesome dad.

Also like the scene where Soichiro and Teppei played chess, a rare brotherly bonding session with some nice, meaningful dialogue.

Special mention to the actor who played Teppei's boss, he was pretty cool.

The theme song is really addictive, though! Love it tons.

Ghost Mama episode 2 was a bit too silly with very little original content. Looks like another drama trying to get on the child actor-ratings wave. Not sure if I will continue on with this.

Umechan Sensei second week. That was so much fun. I laughed out loud a few times. It still reminds the audience of war time reality occasionally, but hope is there too.

Finished Ai to iu na no Moto ni.

I guess I'll be going against the grain here, but I found this drama extremely boring. I fell asleep a few times and found it hard to get into the story. Normally I LUFF these slice-of-life stories, where you stumble into the lives of these characters and they continue living long after you've stopped watching. I didn't feel intrigued with this one, though. None of the characters grasped my attention and Suzuki Honami was REALLY annoying. Her lack of expressive eyes (sleepy-dog eyes, really) were frustrating to watch.

Over all, the drama was watchable, but it's very forgettable and I will not be watching it again.

While waiting for the next episodes of Beautiful Rain and Higashino Keigo Mysteries (which isn't very mysterious), started watching Jotei: http://jdorama.com/drama.1185.htm.

It's not bad. I've always liked Rosa Kato but she's always seemed to me more like the "girl next door" type. She's doing a good job in this but I wonder if it would have been better to cast somebody with a little more bitchiness in the role.

Speaking of which, Rosa must be some kind of "bitch magnet" because everywhere she goes, from high school to the various clubs she works at, there's always one total B-I-A-T-C-H she has to deal with. The writing of those characters definitely has taken the sledgehammer approach. Maju Ozawa as "Reiko" was so far over the top it was almost laughable.

The characters most interesting to me so far have been Shota Matsuda doing another great job and Leo Morimoto finally gets to play a bad guy and it looks like he's enjoying it!! Applaud

Currently rewatching Mop Girl. I'm in the mood for something lighthearted, so I went with something I already watched.

Finished Unmei no Hito.

Very good drama overall, a bit boring in the middle (too long in the courtroom IMO) but an excellent finale. Well deserved supporting actress award for Maki Yoko. Applaud

It seems to be difficult to find it indeed, even in streaming. I'm sorry I can't help.

Darn it.. but still, big thanks for looking.

I found a stream site for it at http://www.mysoju.com/japanese-drama/top-sales/, but there is an advertisement that covers 1/3 of the screen every 5 minutes, so I'll keep looking for proper download / purchase (with subtitles) to not ruin the series by watching it like that.

p.s. are links to drama torrents allowed here?

Thanks!!

I've actually gotten to download 100% ep6-8 in 1024x576, but for some reason ep1-5 704x396 I can't connect to. Been sharing and caring a lot during past ~14 days (95 active torrents currently from the same tracker), and my download speed is higher than upload (max 1.1mb/s down, max 240kb/s up), so not sure if that's affecting it and I should wait for share ratio to raise too.

Anyhow, you've got PM! \o_

Been watching Freeter, Ie wo Kau. Not really feeling it all that much. I like Ninomiya and think he can actually act pretty well compared to his Johnny's peers but I don't think the script of this show is all that tight. I enjoyed his performance in Haikei Chichiue-sama and Letters from Iwo Jima.

The dad is a really knob which makes him very endearing.

I hope it gets better... =T

Finished Suzuki Sensei.

I usually don't watch school dramas, but the girl who subbed this one told me it was good. It was good, better than the school dramas I've watched. Hasegawa Hiroki was much better in this than Kaseifu no Mita. Definitely worth a watch if you want something a bit different than the normal school drama. Applaud
