^ I am sure the finale of Kekkon Dekinai Otoko was enjoyable Mr Green

So I checked out Take Five last night on telly - must have been episode 5. It took me some time to figure out who's who. I wonder if this isn't modeled after The Thieves, Korea's sleek hit movie of 2012? Minus the sleekness and budget of course. Not sure if I am sold... but at least it seems more interesting than Last Cinderella. Bonus for fanboys, Meisa is back, looking positively hot post-baby.

Regarding Doubles: I like the whole dynamic of Unit Zero. One of the other reasons I'm still watching it.

Did anyone notice how in several of the dramas this week the case revolved around hostesses? We had a bit of it in 35-year old high school student, then on Doubles and Tokage.

Ran across an "oldie" (if 2005 can be considered old) "Ame to Yume no atoni":http://www.jdorama.com/drama.953.htm

Had trouble with it at first with the whole who could see ghosts and who couldn't,

Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:

I think it might turn out to be pretty good.

Yes, really good! Though I must admit my second guess was downright wrong!

One of my favourite dramas from that year. Smile

Episode 5 with Jiro Sato and his crazy family was great! I think this is the first drama I've seen where you can have horror, comedy, and something touching all at once. Applaud

Up thru episode 9 of 'Ame to Yume no atoni'. Nice plot twist that took me completely by surprise but at the same time opened up a major hole:

Maybe they'll explain it in the final episode.

Episode 6 Last Cinderella, why oh why am I not dropping this?
The preview of episode 7 showed that they are going to use one of the most silly cliche ever invented, but I guess I will be watching tonight.

Update: watched now episode 7, a few twists were added to keep us viewers guessing but I think I know how it's going to end.

My favourite drama this season which is still running must be Soratobu Kouhoushitsu. The characters are fleshed out nicely, there's a continuation with each relationship, the developing romance doesn't seem forced, the lead pair's chemistry is great (Gakky is actually pretty cute and less annoying and Ayano Go is pretty good), and it takes a refreshing look at Japan's Self-Defence Force. I'm up up to episode 5 and sticking with it for now.

I don't really remember the ending but I think they put it out nicely. Have you gone through the finale?

Take's wife asked why at the beginning of the final episode but nobody ever really answered her. Still, it was an excellent drama and they had a good ending to it. Applaud

Just got done watching ep 5 of Tumbling and I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying this drama and happy the way they are dealing with the gay character(one of those very very rare occasions a Japanese drama makes an lgbt character not a comedy stereotype)

I'm stuck on ep 3 and wondering if I should continue. Sakura is so awful (I blame both the writing and Shinohara Ryoko) that I can't quite imagine Rintaro with her. Hiroto is a snooze fest.

As far as I am concerned it doesn't get better ... while I don't care that they made her character messy and her look natural I just can't buy that a 40 year old would be so unexperienced. And yep the male interests are quite boring.

It's quite light but they handled the gay storyline really well!

Speaking of which, Mayonaka no Panya-san has a cross-dressing character who isn't ridiculed too much. I just watched episode 5 and I still like it best! Who would have thought that the biggest Tacky piss taker would like a drama with him as the lead. (ok there was News no Onna but that's 15 years old or so)

Started watching Soratobu Kouhoushitsu quite a nice drama. It can be a bit boring but I like the character development.

For lack of anything better to do started watching 'Doubles'. There's a scene in episode two where it looks like Sei Hiraizumi is saying to himself, "If I had saved my money for retirement I wouldn't have to be doing this shit."

In the interest of fairness I'm hoping for an Uchida shower scene. Fingers crossed

Watching:

Galileo 2 - I don't mind Yoshitaka Yuriko, but I really prefer Shibasaki Kou. The dynamic with Fukuyama Masaharu seems a lot more interesting with Kou.

Sennyu Tantei Tokage - First ep moved verrrrry slowly, but Mabo is in this so I'm giving it another couple eps to see how it goes.

Take 5 - Very Leverage-ish! I like (but I kinda wanna slap Matsuzaka Tori's character upside the head sometimes Sweat )!

Doubles - Not bad, but not great either. Still watching because, hey I'm a female and I deserve some eye candy sometimes! hehe

Keiji 110kg - Lighthearted, family-safe. Pretty much Ishizuka being Ishizuka.

Otenki Oneesan - Actually wasn't expecting this to be as interesting as it is, so I'm kinda enjoying it.

and finally Meshibana Deka Tachibana - Not so much a detective drama, it's more about food, but it's actually pretty interesting!

Ijou desu! Bow

While waiting for the next Galileo 2 episodes, I'm watching the Dai Kaizou Gekiteki Before After makeover shows. Gad, but they're addictive! Sweat

^I cross my fingers for a Uchida shower scene, it would only be fair.

I might have found the one quality drama of the season by WOWOW: Haitatsu Saretai Watashitachi about a severely depressed guy delivering 7 year old letters to a series of people, and while doing so changing their lives. The first person he meets tries to cure his depression, without success (so far). Not too cheesy so far.

At the same time that I'm watching 'Doubles' I've been watching 'Aibou 10' and honestly it's been a little disappointing.

Saya Takagi's character (she ran the little cafe where they would eat at the end of every episode) is gone. Eventually they brought in Anju Suzuki (she played the lady that always had bad things happen to her in 'Aibou 4') to replace her. They also brought back Katsumi Takahashi and his Phillip Marlowe wannabe character from 'Aibou 5'. It's never a good sign when they start bringing back old characters, it usually means they're running out of ideas.

But with all its faults, compared to 'Doubles', 'Aibou 10' looks like it was written by Agatha Christie.
