Hello, World!

I'm looking for recommendations for which user's profiles to read through to find the best ratings and reviews for japanese dramas. Who are the Siskels and Eberts of jdorama.com?

Also, more specifically, are there any jdramas that address the tsunami and the aftermath? Amachan touched on it some, but it was still kind of skirted around. Still too painful, so they don't want to seem to be exploiting it for dramatic impact?

Thanks!

Hi everyone! I just recently discovered Japanese doramas and I finished Buzzer Beat with in three days. It was really good, one of my favorite things about Buzzer Beat was that the leads were friends who at first had no romantic attraction to each other and slowly began to fall in love. It made me realize how much I love the friends fall in love trope. Can you guys please recommend me some other Japanese doramas that use this trope where the leads are friends before they fall in love? Thanks everyone for their help, I truly appreciate it!

There are many, so many in fact it's hard to recommend anything because it's such a popular plot device in Japanese dramas... Basically, almost all of the classic romance dramas have couples who were friends (e.g. Orange Days, Long Vacation, etc.) Most Asadoras (morning dramas) have couples who were childhood friends. The most recent one I can think of is Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi and its sequel.

You may want to check out Long Vacation first, it shares some similarities with Buzzer Beat in that it feels like the script writer was copying some elements from Long Vacation.

Okey after being stupid and not look 100% around the forum I made a new topic when there is one already about recommendations so I hope that one gets deleted and I will ask here instead.

So I need some tips on good j-dramas to watch. Im watching atm Hotaru no Hikari.

I have seen Kekkon Dekinai Otoko, Densha otoko and Brother Beat so something similar in does lines or a good detective one or one about Yakuza (Damn Yakuza 4 game got me hooked on it) or just one you think should not be missed (not to sad not to super lovey dovey).

First, you're NOT stupid. If you had started a thread like this (locked thankfully): http://www.jdorama.com/viewtopic.9795.0.htm&sid=13c9b6f904dd4c0cf0d7a9952a4d7a16

THEN I might question the size of your brain pan.

Some dramas you might like could be, "Hitotsu Yane no Shita": http://www.jdorama.com/drama.139.htm

"Dekichatta Kekkon": http://www.jdorama.com/drama.567.htm

and maybe the best detective drama ever "Odoru Daisousasen":http://www.jdorama.com/drama.290.htm
